Best and Worst Moments for you as a Sports Fan

Best = Bulls repeat the 3-peat.

Worst = Steve Bartman. The day I stopped paying attention to the Cubs.

Best: Kentucky Wildcats winning NCAA championship last year making them the team with the second most championships.
Worst: Kentucky losing so much this year. Not a great season for them losing six players to the NBA draft and all.

Best: Dundee United winning the Scottish Cup in 2010. The first time witnessing my team win a trophy and one of the best days out ever

Worst: Scotland missing the penalty against England(Damn you Uri Gellar!) and then Gazza going up and scoring THAT goal.

Best: Red Sox come from behind to win game 4 of the 2004 American League Championship Series against the Yankees and never lose again all the way home to a World Series victory, the first baseball team to come from a post season 0-3 deficit to win it all.

Best: Flyers winning the Stanley Cup on May 19, 1974...1-0, they could have played 10 periods that day (and it was an afternoon game) and the Bruins would have never scored on Bernie Parent.

2nd Best: Penn State beating the Miami Thugicanes because they made their QB (Testaverde) think about getting hit and he threw 5, that's F-I-V-E picks. If you have ever seen the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Miami football, a lot of those players are still bitter about that defeat.

Worst Moment: Flyers lose in Cup finals because linesman Leon Stickle misses a call where Bob Nystrom was CLEARLY offsides, but goes in to score the tying goal; Islanders win in OT.

2nd Worst: Eagles are in the game against the Patriots in Super Bowl whatever, and Donovan McNabb starts puking in the huddle...the game was winnable but your QB wasn't.

Besties:
-Red Wings winning the Cup for Vlady
-Michigan State winning the NCAA tourney in 2000
-Megatron setting the season record for receiving yards
-Detroit Tigers restoring the Roar in '84 I was 12 years old and still remember Gibby jumping around like a mad man

Worsts:
-Eddie Murray missing a 45 yard field goal in the mid 1980's vs the 49ers in the NFC championship. I threw my TV into the wall and it stuck there, I got grounded! 🙂
-USA losing to Germany in the world cup knock out round. Tony S had a header go just wide in the final seconds, he'd knock it in 9 out of 10 times. This was that 1 that missed. 🙁
-Detroit Pistons trading Billups! It was all down hill from there.

Best:
-Watching the San Francisco Giants win the World Series 2 out of 3 years after being harassed for signing Barry Zito for such a large contract. To which I might add, Johan Santana now makes more than Zito does. Let's count his trophies.. and take
a guess at how many games he might play
-Seeing Lebron James help win a NBA championship after taking so much gruff for leaving Cleveland
-Watching the Dallas Cowboys become irrelevant in the NFL

Worst:
-Finding out Dodgers fans gang beat a helpless man into a life-threatening coma just for being a Giants fan
-Watching any team win a title knowing the opponent was severely injured then brag about how good their victory was in winning

Best: 1987 and 1991 MN Twins becoming World Champions.
Becoming a Wild fan, I have more hope in them to win a Stanley cup before the Vikings win a superbowl

Worst: all Vikings anything.... People say how bad the lions are or the browns, personally in my opinion it's more embarrassing to be a Vikings fan than any other football team. 0-4 in Superbowls... And the last two NFC title games they made it to they lost.

Best: LSU winning the national title in 2004. It put us back on the scene and established the program as an elite annual title contender. Had a blast on Bourbon Street before and after too.

Worst: LSU getting embarrassed by the team I hate most, Alabama, in the title game IN New Orleans, after the greatest season in LSU football history which included beating Bama in t-town. I walked around for a month looking like I needed a hug. That game broke my spirit and I still haven't fully recovered haha.

Best Moments:
-Danny Way 2008 X-Games Big Air. I've never seen someone take such a beating and still finish all his runs.
-2010: Barcelona beats Real Madrid 5-0. The "Welcome to the Camp Nou" that Jose Mourinho deserved lol.
-2012: UK beats Louisville in the Final Four. It was the dream match-up with the best possible outcome! And then I got to watch my city of Lexington destroy itself...riot police everywhere!

Worst Moments:
-Every season for a Cincinnati based, professional team...
-Barca getting their asses handed to them by Bayern in the Champion League semi final
-2013: Watching UK lose in the first round of the NIT. But at the same time it was sort of a relief that the season came to an end
