who in your opinion is the best football coach ever..

some names to mention tom landry, vince lombardi, chuck noll, tony dungy, don shula, joe paterno, mike holmegren, etc etc

in my opnion the best ever was chuck noll of course i have the steelers fan biase but i do honestly believe he was the best followed closely by landry

Pro: Bellichek (prolly spelled wrong), Lombardi, Noll, and Parcells

College: Paterno, Bryant, Bowden, Rockne, and Carrol in that order

Chuck Noll, without a doubt. He took a Steelers team that floundered in mediocrity, at best, for decades and turned them around and made them the team they are still to this day.

Also on that list of elites would be Tom Landry, Joe Paterno, Bill Parcells, John Madden and Don Schula.

you son of a bitch you take parcells off that list nao LOL

I can take you. I know your weakness. :tickling:

Parcells rules!! (after Noll).

Parcells is a complete joke. He is just one of many old coaches that don`t know when to retire. gibbs is a hell of a better coach than Parcells ever thought to be

I think you're both nuts. Parcells has turned around every team he's ever coached. Hell, look at Miami last year compared to this year. Granted, he wasn't coaching, but you can't tell me he didn't have a big hand in that turnaround.

he didnt have a big hand in that turn around :woot:.... and i posted his coaching stats and they werent good except with the giants. what other team did he turn around.. you saw the stats 500 or worse everywhere else and a losing record in the playoffs everywhere else

he does what he normally did. turn the team around for a year or so, then get his ass handed to him in the 1st round of the playoffs. then he would bail like the chicken -shit he is

slacker granted he did put some of the players in miami that helped turn it around.. but its more than putting players on the feild.. ask jerry jones, its the coaches in miami who turned it around not bill

would like to see what he would have done without ALL THE CHEATING HE DID!!!

i hate bellicheat as much as anyone else but i gotta admitt that was smart.. he got away with it for a long time and i dont blame him do what it takes to win... honestly if the steelers were doing it and they were winning superbowls because of it i would be all for it

Hmmm, I seem to recall a Jets team that was what, 1-15? 2-14 under Rich Kotite that Parcells took over and the very next year put them in contention for a wild card spot. How many coaches can do that in a year's time?

he didn`t stay to finish the job at either place. This is the same guy that at a playoff game Cowboys vs. giants , met the team President of the Giants ttrying to get the Giants GM job while coaching the `boys. You don`t think that is a conflict of interest???
