Best coach ever

Any list should include Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick...take the bias out of it folks and look at it objectively...both of these guys have won everywhere they've been and Parcells knack for turning teams around is unmatched.

Ask yourself this, who is the 2nd best coach in the NFL? (I'd say Jeff Fisher) It's not an easy question to answer, that's how far ahead Belichick is relative to everyone else in the league right now. Give him Mangini's team and the AFC East wouldn't have been a contest this year...

the definition of turning a franchise around means they have several good years in a row.

Parcells did a very good job at NY Giants; give him credit where credit is due. Other than that he didn`t turn any other team into a consistant winner.

N.E.

not once did he have good back to back years anywhere else. that is not turning a franchise around. What he did was create alot of mediocrity

You need to look a bit deeper than the records...

...in New England and New York. There were a number of front office issues there, and to even get that Patriots team to the Super Bowl was an accomplishment, trust me.

As far as embarrassed in the Super Bowl, I take issue with that was well...Desmond Howard had the performance of a lifetime, it wasn't as if Green Bay truly dominated the game at the line of scrimmage. The Packers had about 80 more total yards and the Patriots' defensive adjustments, which are a credit to Parcells, kept the score reasonable by forcing several punts and a missed long FG in the 2nd half. You can chalk that game up to the ugly side of Drew Bledsoe rearing it's head and the fact that Howard was a monster.

Also, what about Miami this season? Parcells hired the head coach, assistants, front office personnel, brought in the QB, kept Joey Porter etc.

Really the only place he was not able to achieve success and should have was Dallas, bad mix of players there, and they haven't exactly been able to gel any better and win in the post-season since he left...

I assume you mean other than Chuck Noll, right?

Bill Walsh, Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi

trust me

he didn`t do shit in dallas. With the exception of Owens he brought in the players he wanted. He made all the player personel decisions and made some terrible draft day decisions . Bottom line is he didn`t have any continued success any other place than with the Giants

And with dolphins he is not the coach, he is president or such, I think Sparano deserves the majority of the credit
