It doesn't have to be the decade you grew up in. I was born in the late 80s grow up in the 90s but I always wish even if it was for a day to see what it was like to live in the 80s. it seemed like everybody was so laid back. Plus long hair metal heads, today they're all shaved heads and black clothes. the economy and the government wern't as shitty as it is today. Other than the aid scare the 80s are the winners in my book!

I was born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's. The 90's was the beginning of my adulthood. The 80's was the best decade ever. What I wouldn't give to relive those years again..

The 80's the 80's the 80's!!!!!!

I was born in 1975, so got to really enjoy the full 80's experience.
Yes, everything was bright and colorful. Women had big hair, men listened to big ass boom-boxes......
The cartoons were Transformers, He-Man, GI Joe, Voltron...loved 'em all.

The clothes were the best, and not even the extreme examples.
Men looked like men....and DAMN the women looked like women!
Dresses, nice blouses, full hair (not all the girls had the big absurd hair, but I think that's why I love a girl with full hair) and bestest of all, women almost always wore PANTYHOSE! Yee ha!

Sadly, today's world is all....blah.....

I think that's why so many people lament the 80's so much these days, and why SOME of the styles are coming back, but not the good styles yet, just some of the extreme stuff.

The 80's had a distinct CULTURE. Everybody recognizes the Ghostbusters, for example. Is anyone going to dress up as their favorite character from Big Brother part 14? Would anyone, anywhere, even recognize you if you did?

Reality TV has utterly taken over entertainment in the 2000's, and that is horrible. It's all emptyness, devoid of any culture whatsoever. All those shows are utterly forgettable. All those wannabe celebrities are literally getting about 15 minutes of fame, and will be forgotten about in a few years time, if not sooner.

So bring back all the good stuff from the 80's!!

Depends on what you mean by "growing up" I guess. I turned 25 in 1980 if that counts. The recession of 1981-82 was pretty bad, granted it didn't last as long. The oil bust devastated the Texas economy and I remember sitting in long lines at gas stations, if they had any gas to sell that is. Then we had the Savings and Loan crisis.

As to the government being not as "shitty" then, that's a matter of opinion I guess. The AIDS scare was very scary for a lot of people. There was talk of quarantining people with AIDS in government camps. My point is, people who were not around during a particular decade, or even century, often think the grass must have been greener then. Don't get me wrong. I had a lot of good times in the 80s. But every period of history has its good and bad points.

I was born in 1983. Of the decades I've been alive the 90s was probably the best. I was very young in the 80s and the last decade just sucked completely. This decade not off to a go start. The 60s were probably the most interesting decade. I'd prefer to live in the future though.

The 60s were probably the most interesting decade.

It certainly was "interesting" I suppose. I was born in 1955 and remember that decade well. The assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., a seemingly unending war in Vietnam that led to riots on college campuses, the deep racial divisions that led to Watts and other racially charged riots..The Cuban Missile Crisis..Nuclear war with the Soviet Union seemed a very real possibility. America in that decade was more deeply divided as a nation then we had been since the Civil War in my opinion.

I have a lot of fond memories of my childhood from that era. But a whole lot of scary things were going on as well.

90's because I grew up then, and 70's because of the show with Mila Kunis and Laura Prepon 😀

They all have their good and bad points. You just can't beat the medical and technological advancements of current time! I think right now is the most partisan politics I have ever seen in my liftime. It seems to sway from free market candidates (smaller government ) to full blown socialist candidates. Sometimes this happens in one or two election cycles. Individuals in the 50's and 60's took more individual responsibility for their own behavior. There was not this sense of entitlement that takes place today... However, I think currently is the best time!

the 70's for music and the 80's for movies but if i had to choose I would say the 70's

90s 😀....great time to be a kid...and the age of the Disney Renaissance 😉

Ironically I think both my Mother & Daughters would agree, because Grandma was sure to send each and every Disney movie to the girls even before it hit the stores; and as such, our moss-covered three-handled family grudunza is now filled to the brim with evey Disney first release VHS.

80's get my vote as well. Of course having went from ages 9-18 in the decade how could it not? 😀

80's, hands down. :bounce:

I loved being a little kid in the 80's. I wanna go back! 😛

Of course I'm going to say the 90's 🙂 though I am a proud product of the 80's lol. Good times, good times.

I loved the 70's! The times seemed a bit simpler. I wouldn't mind going back!

It has to be the 60's. The birthof the Beatles Stones, Led Zepplin Jimi Hendrix et al. Miniskirts ,Woodstock .turning on and dropping out, and if your an Ameircan the added thrill of being sent to the ' Nam'.
