He puts on quite a show, I'll grant you that. But greatest drummer ever? I beg to differ. Drew posted a good example, here is another.

Okay...I gotta clear this up. I believe Siren didn't, in fact mean the best drummer who ever breathed. I do believe she meant in terms of sheer entertainment and awesomeness, you'd be watching this dude and all of a sudden he flies off the Normal Handle and your gauge for Standard Drummer breaks into widdle iddy biddy pieces and you think, "WTF IS HAPPENING TO HIM?!?! IS HE HAVING A SEIZURE?!?! THISISSOAWESOME!!!11 HE'S A HUMAN MUPPET!!!"

Speking as a drummer, teacher and someone who speaks to a lot of drummers, its got to be Buddy Rich.

While we have Canadians in the room, can I express my sadness at hearing about the death of Rob McConnell, surely one of the greatest ever Canadian musicians.
