Since we had a "Punch in the gut" threard lets have this thread. What is the best moment you ever had as a sports fan? Mine was the Miami Heat winning the 2006 NBA finals, the 2008 Dolphins making the playoffs (after a 1-15 season), and when Cain Vaslesquez beat Brock Lesnar to win the Heavyweight title....:chocrabbit:

The Steelers winning their 6th Super Bowl title with what is one of the best finishes in Super Bowl history.

Ah, your a Steeler fan? We must be related....my entire family is from a little town near Pittsburgh and are HARD-CORE fans....when Big Ben got poped is was like a dark cloud cast over the entire area.....

I have two.

January 11, 1970. The Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Minnesota Vikings 23-7 in the Super Bowl. The game was more lop sided then the final score indicates. That great defense, led by Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell and Buck Buchanan had Joe Kapp on the run all day. And the classic touchdown catch and run by Otis Taylor, which sealed the victory..It was a great day to be a Chiefs fan. 😀

1985. The Kansas City Royals destroy the Saint Louis Cardinals 11-0 in game seven of the World Series. I watched the game at a bar in Houston surrounded by Cardinals fans. I was less then a gracious winner that day. 😀

Always nice winning a championship or two....:yourock:

Edgar Martinez hitting "The Double" I was all of five and a half years old but I still remember it perfectly.

That year was the year that saved baseball in Seattle and I do not care who you are or where you are from there is no sports moment that passes that one in emotion for an entire region. The culmination of the month leading up to it combined with that playoff seried are unmatched.

Tickler15 - I totally agree with Lesnar getting his beat down by "The Mexicutioner". He is a total douche!

:swordfight::swordfight::swordfight: Cain is my new hero!! and yeah Lesnar is a douche and he stand up sucks....glad Cain had good takedown defense....btw my new favorite shape is a diamond....(Hope people get that)

One moment only.

Carlos Baerga's fly ball to Marquis Grissom on October 28, 1995, when my Atlanta Braves won their first, and to date, only, World Series. It was a moment I had been waiting for my whole life, and, even if Atlanta never wins another World Series, a moment I will treasure forever. Tom Glavine called it "An Atlanta Second", in his autobiography that he wrote after the 1995 season. He was so right.

On October 9, 1988, I was attending game 4 of the National League Championship Series in Shea Stadium, wearing my Dodgers warm-up jacket.

The Dodgers trailed 4-2 going into the 9th inning. John Shelby opened that inning with a walk off Dwight Gooden. The next batter, Mike Scioscia, hit a home run, just inches over the right-center field wall. 😀 Mike had hit only 4 home runs during the regular season.

In the top of the 12th inning, Kirk Gibson hit a long home run to center field to give the Dodgers a 5-4 lead. 😀 😀

In the bottom of the 12th, the Mets loaded the bases with one out. But Jesse Orosco got Strawberry to pop up to the infield, and then Orel Hershiser came in (on zero days rest, have been the starting pitcher the day before) to face Kevin McReynolds. He got McReynolds to fly to shallow center field. Shelby, running in at full speed, just managed to catch the ball at knee level to end the game and preserve the 5-4 Dodger victory. 😀 😀 😀

last weekend. tottenham 2-0 down against our fiecest rivals arsenal (aka the scum). in a pub surrounded by laughing and jeering gooners (scum fans). we go on to win 2-3!!! still dont have my voice back.

The New York Giants defeating the undefeated New England Patriots in the greatest Super Bowl upset of all time. The Pats had all but been handed the Lombardi trophy before the playoff even begin. And what can you say about "The Catch?" 🙂
