See I didn't like the Dark Knight much, found it a bit pretentious and preachy for a film about a comic character. Especially one who was portrayed by Adam West.

See, I don't. When Adam West was Batman it was funny. When Jack Nicholson was The Joker it was funny. Now it's trying to be some sort of believable gangster film, not camp or over the top in any way, and it's not funny or entertaining. If you're going to make a gangster film, make a gangster film. If you're going to make a police film, make a film about a policeman. If you're going to make a film about a comic book man who thinks he is some sort of bat, it has to be slightly over the top otherwise it's just a bit... sad.

I did like the Dark Knight ... a lot ... I don't think Heath Ledger was classic in it like most people seem to think, the whole death thing made it seem better ... completely solid movie though

for me were the most entertaining of the year. No Country had some outstanding acting, especially on Javier's part.

"The Dark Knight" -- must've seen that four times in theaters...
"Wall-E" -- Pixar can't make a bad movie.
"Appaloosa" -- Good to get a well-built western now and then. Last year's was "The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford".
"Tropic Thunder" -- was pretty good, I thought.


"No Country for Old Men" was technically 2007.
