whose the best in the world today in your opinion doesnt have to be the most popular just the best... here are my top five

1 The Great Muta (japan)

2 Kurt Angle (tna)

3 William Regal (wwe)

4 Shelton Benjamin(wwe)

5 this is too tough to choose so a tie for 5th between Randy Orton and Edge (wwe)

WWEs Mysterio. c'mon, that little buggers got some good moves and alot of heart.

he is alright and he does have some decent moves but i wouldnt by any means call him one of the best.. whenevr you get the time check out the actual mysterio jr on youtube he is ridiculous

Depends on what you define as best

for wrestling\character\skill

1. Great Muta
2. Jushin Liger
3. Kenta Kobashi
4. Dragon Kid
5. Petey Williams

Gotta go with Kurt Angle. He's the only one who truly gives off the impression of being unbeatable.

That's a tough one. I think HBK is still one of the very best, even if he is getting up there. Other than that, I think all of your choices are pretty spot-on.

Shawn Michales but im biased hahaha

Shawn Michaels is even better than he was when he was younger

The Undertaker skillset is still awesome. He is really about the only one that continues to add finishing moves rather than strictly rely on one or two.

1. Chokeslam

2. Last Ride

3. Triangle choke

4. Tombstone piledriver

5. Modified gogoplata

6. snake eyes

yes thats true but would u consider him the best today? maybe 5 or six years ago but not today... and michaels was the best in the world in his hay day but that is long gone

in both cases yes...new guys today are more worried about making sure they get in all their speciality moves; which nowadays maybe two. Newbies have no idea what it is to wrestle a 45 or 60 minute match . Where HBK & and the Undertaker can do that in their sleep

thats what wreslting has become today its all about short quick hard hitting matches and they end with finishers.. and i agree that they arent to many wrestlers who could wrestle and entertaining iron man match but i wouldnt call either of them top wrestlers today.. i wouldnt even put them in the top 20

that is one of the biggest reasons why todays wrestlins SUCKS compared to the golden age of the eighties

gotta disagree i prefer now.. the old wrestling was too boring at times.. granted you dont see the pure wrestling anymore but i enjoy the hardcore fast paced style of today and i dont think you could argue that the wrestlers of today are much better athletes

not really... they are better at hitting the gym for appearance and shooting`roids.

Everymatch is damn near the same.

there were incredible athletes back then just as there are now

who would you sonsider the best athlete back then.. im not talking of batista or cena or mark henry when i say athlete i mean shelton benjamin... carlito.. rey mysterio.. evan bourne.. kofi kingston etc etc and i dont think anyone back then compares to the things these guys do

athletic doesn`t have to mean high flying. Manny the raging bull Fernandez and wahoo mc daniel were nfl players. there were MANY more , those two just jumped out at me.

Kerry Von erich was on the 1984 olympiv team that boycotted as a discus thrower

Brian pillman was one of the best high flyers of all-time

Ron Simmons was an all-american at Florida state

lex luger played in the usfl anf randy savage was a highly touted minor league catcher before he blew out his shoulder

do you need more, just the tip of the iceberg

i didnt mean it as high flying .. i see shelton benjamin as the most atheltic man to grace a wwe ring .. but good list especially simmons... i just dont think the old guys could keep up today and i think that given the chance most if not all of the wrestlers today could have shined back then.. i see the old wrestlers in the caliber of a cody rhodes today... just dont think they would have what it takes to keep up today.. but thats the same with almost any sport .. take football for example outside of a few the older guys wouldnt make it today the new guys are bigger stronger faster more athletic etc etc

the greatest wrestler in history made his mark by doing 60 minutes matches night after night. These new guys couldn`t have handled wrestling everynight in a different city
