Big Exams

Ladies and Gentlemen:

As of 7:10 this morning, I am OFFICIALLY a LICENSED DPT!!!!

WOOOOOOOOT!!!! *explodes with ecstacy*

*puts on janitor outfit and picks up bits of Camel*

work.... work as usual.

Dearest Vellicating Thespians,

As many of you know, I will be taking the most important multiple choice exam of my life on Monday, February 11th. Thoughts/prayers/love/passing vibes are all appreciated.

My question to the community, as I know there are many amongst us who are in professions that required licensure or boards of some sort in order to practice, is how did you get through your exams? What helped you calm down before and during? Any study methods you found particularly useful/awful?

Any and all pointers would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure there are others out there like me who are about to take a test like this, so maybe we can all help each other out!

If I'm not as active in the next few days, you'll all know why! And as soon as I have results, either way, I will let you all know!

Thank you all in advance for your love and support! It means the world!

Lotsa love and laughter,

:greenstar Dr. Camel, DPT:greenstar

Good-luck sweetheart. Just read the material and make flash cards

nice to meet you queen bee, wow, just joined and already 405 posts? looks like someone's itchin to join the ranks of the elite, hehe.

btw, i'm Big Norm, and according to others (and my lucky shirt which i wear on occasion) I'm kind of a big deal. lol

Staying on topic...has anyone else here had to take any exams like this? Licensure for a profession of some sort?

Just curious...I know I'm not the only one...

My sister-in-law just had to take a certification 5 times for athletic training. She's no dummy, it was just a tough combo of the practical and written. $500 for every test. She had to pass to get a job just to pay for the tests so she could get a job.

Isn't that sick? You can't work until you pass the exams...but they cost upwards of $500...how does one afford such an exam without any income??? Thank goodness for student loans and for the generosity of my parents...otherwise I never would have made it!!!

Same for her. The 8-12 hours per week at the candle store didn't cut it. She's working now, though. Gotta really keep your focus at the end.

Congrats to you for your success, by the way.

Nerrad's here? Haven't heard from you in awhile ^_^

I've never had an exam like that thrown in front of me, with exception of some computer one that would say I know how to operate Microsoft Office without someone standing over me.

Somehow, I failed, I think it had to do with them disabling tooltips and grading me down for clicking the wrong tools before I found the right one.

Anyway, I'm officially not certified to use Microsoft Office.

Good thing I don't work in the computation field.

but, the real reason I posted here was to say...

Grats on passing Cam!!! You raaaaaaaaaaawk!

*joins in a bit late, with that party hat and confetti*

CONGRATZ ON PASSING, CAMEL!!!

*realizes that everyone is watching him confused, and he has missed the surprise thingy*

Hmm..... I guess I'll go and grab myself a beer, then

i plan on taking my A+ Certification in about 6 months after i take a course to brush up on it. it's a general computer electronics test and a must if you or me, for example wants to become a computer tech or computer engineer.

i'm sure i can ace it since i eat and breath electronics and taken the course twice, but i'd hate to pay over $300 on the test just to flunk it.

Yes, Camel, I know your struggles and joy well.

Took the NABPLEX in 1986 to become a Registered Pharmacist waaaaay back in 1986.

My struggles to become a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist are chronicled in another post.

So I shared your pain and revel in your accomplishment. Certification or board exams in any field are intentionally difficult. I am so happy and proud of your achievement!!!

Thank you Sir Hawkeye...that means a lot coming from you.

Especially as you are a Pirate who doesn't do anything!!! (I LOVE VEGGIE TALES!!! I had some friends in high school dress up as the veggies and perform the Hairbrush song at a birthday party...just for laughs...HILARIOUS!!!)

"Oh where is my hairbrush? Oh where is my hairbrush? Oh where oh where oh where oh where oh where oh where oh where....is my hairbrush???"

Ah, Larry Boy...

A personal favorite is the Waterbuffalo song...and the one where Larry sings in spanish about Bob...hilarious!!!

Anyhoo...I can't imagine what the exam is like to be a pharmacist...after 7 years of school...then a huge exam...wow...then another one to specialize...I couldn't get through O Chem...my hat and socks are off to you!!!

I have respect and admiration for anyone who passes any form of certification exam. I'm sure I'd be clueless if I took yours. Hearty congrats!

Nice to know that someone else on here is a Veggie Tales fan! My favorite of the "Silly Songs" has to be Mr. Lunt's heart-wrenching "You're His Cheeseburger!" or the "Gated Community".

My son got the "Boyz 'n the Sink" live CD, and it is a riot! Hard to tell which part I like best, the part where Kirk Franklin joins them for "Belly Button" or the soon to be classic "Funky Polka" You'd love it, Camel!

I wanted to make the new Larry-Boy song video part of a new siggy here, but am clueless on how to 'rip it' from the DVD...
