Biggest Movie This Summer?

Ok, we've all seen the hype machine starting to hum to life on the web and soon it will filter on to TV, so my question to all you fine folks is this...Which summer movie do you think will be the biggest moneymaker this year and why?

My own choice? I'm going with a dark horse. I say Tim burton's remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is gonna be #1. I think this flick really has legs. parents and kids are gonna wanna see it, plus it is gonna have a nice twisted creepy edge to it which I think will help it play all the way into Labor Day.

Yea, I think chocolate factory will be number one. I wish I wish that it would be the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, though. Man I loved those books!

I dunno. I'm probably not going to see the remake of Chocolate Factory. The original was too perfect to ruin with this "remake fever" that's going around.

garfirld sequel? lol, now that's a joke. but seriously, mayday, i've never seen it, but i heard it sucked majorly, so my guess is a no. from my friend's opinions, The Tuxedo was a better hit. boy, is it me, or is Jennifer Love Hewitt keep starring in bad movies?

i don't think the chocolate factory will be big, mark my words. Aeon Flux will be out, not sure of that. i'm currently looking for more movies coming out this summer...

well, did some digging, not even half way throught the list, and found some awesome movies coming. for 1, in my opinion, the best movie this summer will be The Fantastic Four. here's the link to the trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fantastic_four/FF_large.html . yep that's right. and others coming, are Blood Rayne (from the popular video game), Doom (also from the video game, WOOT!) Bewitched, a smaller flick which looks very interesting called: CSA: The Confederate States of America (basically a movie about if the south won the civil war.)

They are going to completely ruin the doom movie. First of all, it doesn't take place on mars....secondly, no demons from hell. Those two things are what make doom into doom. Stupid holllywood....

Episode III, Stars Wars, #1 of the summer, 22 years in the making....

really? doom's gonna be thatbad? bummer, sorta like the forst resident evil movie, really strayed off course, but that sucks, that's 2 things that make the game... but i forgot about the star wars thing. sadly, i think i gotta agree with you, i personally am tired of star wars, i ain't gonna see it.

am i the only person hyped about star wars episode III?

Batman Begins.... they're going back to the first movie style, based on teh Dark Night comic. No more neon rave bullshit, flashy stuff.

Dark. Bad. Out for revenge

I wouldn't say I'm hyped about it. More like I'll see it just to put a lid on the thing. Whether or not it'll save the franchise at the last minute will be up for debate.

Hmmm. Actually, I kind of figure that episode III is going to tank. The reasoning behind this is the first two prquels. It's not a movie anymore....It's a marketing gimmick.

who's directing the new batman movie? not sure if i'm gonna like it. just isn't batman without tim burton directing.

I say war of the worlds, beacuse king kong is gonna be in theaters in december, I think

Word, brother.

As a lifelong Batman geek, I am proverbially totally jacked for this film. I hope Joel Schumacher watches this upcoming film and officially apologizes for those two bastardization films he put out years ago, almost killing the franchise...

(Now if only we could get that new WB animated series to be any good...)

I believe it is Darren Aranofsky, director of "Pi" and the one with Ellen Burstyn from a few years ago that I'm totally blanking on the title of right now...she was Oscar-nominated for it...oh, "Requiem For a Dream".

I think Darren has the stuff to make the Dark Knight...DARK.
