birthdays....whoopee....

My birthday is coming up this Friday....24y/o...ya know, birthdays have already begun to loose their meaning for me. There are a few big ages, 13 (your a teen), 18 (your a young adult), 21 (your an adult) and then after that they just loose it. The next big one is 30, which only makes you think of how close you are to 40......I dunno.....I've always put way to much thought into stuff like this. Almost as bad as they way my GF feels about turning 25, "I'm a quarter of a century old." Hows that for pessimism ah? And I know being a young invidual in general in this place maybe doesnt give the right to say such things, but just curious how other people feel about this...

It's just a number. Of course MY number is twiceyours, so I'm not feeling so good...lol. You'll go through stages for birthdays, and obviously you've hit one. 30 was big, 40 didn't really register, and 50 is.."looming" so I can't answer for that one! Hopefully you'll enjoy each one as a tiny milestone, or at least that's what all the damn Hallmark cards I get keep telling me...lol. Q

Um, I LOVE birthdays; had an awesome party when I turned 30 back in November and will have another just as fun this year! As the mommy in my house it's my job to make a big deal out of holidays and birthdays, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Birthdays are for people to celebrate having YOU in their lives, I say bring on the cake and ice cream .

I have several friends who are glum and crabby about "the big 30" ,I avoid them during the whine fests. Personally I feel as good as I did in my 20's but with more experience and a better sense of who I am, I like that. Birthdays are whatever you make them, pretty much like life; Doc, I hope you go out (or stay in) and have a blast on Friday 😎

I still enjoy birthdays. I have one coming up in July😉
I have a friend, who if you even start to talk about birthday's or age she will get ansy and have to leave. We still believe she is 21😉 she's been 21 for two years straight that I know of.🙂 Heck why lie about your age, it's just a number. 🙄

I'm with Bella, I am the mommy in this house as well and I make all the celebrations and love it. Had a great party for my 30, had a great party for my 40.

At 35, all the milestone b'days have passed. Not that I cared much for them anyway. BTW, mine is coming up on April 30th...
