I have been hearing people talk about no black head coaches being hired this offseason on such shows as Mike and Mike, First Take, Around the Horn, etc.. and its just ridiculous, I am all about being fair and equal .. .this offseason none and I mean NONE of the best coaches available happen to be black.. and I am sick of hearing people bitch and moan about no black coaches being hired... should a team hire a black coach just to appease to no offense racists like Stephen A Smith.. this is nuts

Andy Reid- Proven Coach great Hire for KC

Bruce Arians- Good offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh and a GREAT interim coach in Indy this year

Chip Kelly- the most coveted non nfl coach around the league with his innovative offense at Oregon

Mike Mccoy- Good offensive Coordinator with the Broncos who made Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow look good and made Manning post surgery look great

Doug Marrone- The 2nd most coveted non nfl coach... turned syracuse around in a short time and made them a viable program

Gus Bradley- A great defensive coordinator who made Seattle a top nfl defense

Rob Chudzinski- a much coveted offensive coordinator for a few years responsible for Cam Newtons maturation in his first and 2nd year as an nfl qb

and Marc Trestman the only coach hiring im questioning.. not because he isnt deserving but because he comes from the cfl.. where to be fair he won championships and had a great win to loss record...

now the best black/minority coaches available

Ray Horton- who was the Cardinals defensive coordinator... who had a great d for weeks this season but very inconsistent throughout the season and his team posed a losing record and epic collapse... where his boss head coach ken whisenhunt was fired.... not exactly brimming with i need to hire him quality

and Lovie Smith- who did a good.. not great job with the bears and missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 seasons

oh gee look at that no great minority coaches currently available yet its a story that none were hired and its ridiculous.. a story espn has created for seeimingly no reason.. I dont get how this is a story the best candidates received the jobs.. is anyone but me irritated by this insane non story being shoved down your throat?

You're absolutely right, talent, not race should be the prerequisite for a coaching position, but you've just answered your own question at the same time. The whole reason ESPN would run a story like that is because it gets a response. That's it.

As a Black Male, I would love to see more Black Coaches.

But Teams that need a Head Coach are gonna Pick the Best Coach available for the Job. If an Organization feels that an Available Coach is the Best guy for the Job, they'll Hire Him, regardless of the Color of His Skin.
