Here is a silly question, perhaps, but one I have been wondering about for some time - why do the male ticklers in most of the tickling clips and videos feel the need to wear black hoods or surgical masks?

Those who've dressed up in black on video since I started doing it 7 years ago are going to be angry at me for pointing this out, but, honestly, when I started using my "tickler in black" character 7 years ago in videos I wasn't aware of any other tickler that dressed in all black and in a black hood/mask. I was trying to be original, have some creativity, create my own identity.

Then, one by one, after I did it, they popped up wearing similar, sometimes the EXACT same outfits. I'd personally be embarassed to completely and openly copy someone so exactly.

Could I be pompeous enough to suggest that because I did it and had great success doing it that others just flat out copied me?

YES.

lol a little upset about that? lol they just wanna be like the master 😛 showin respect and stuff.

Its usually to protect the identity of the tickler so they aren't recognized in their vanilla lives...
But TIB was the first and still the best...

If you want to be different, instead of wearing a black mask or hood, how about something like a nixon or reagan mask? :jester:

Psycholgical

Ok, first of all, as far as this kind of thing is concerned, I would say TIB, your the man. The original and still the finest vintage. Also I would say there are two psychological factors at play, either intentional or not... and I think this would explain why TIB really hit it on the head (often imitated never duplicated, and for the record this is only my costuming opinion there are a lot of other super creative producers out there, but IF your gonna do a costume TIB did a great job) Obviously anonymity, I mean if I was going to do fetish videos, as open as I am about myself, I wouldn't really want Ron Howard looking me up in the film archives and debating my work based on it (unless he had a tickle fetish) or the chief of surgery cruising the Internet and seeing my face. So sure anonymity is big, but I think its even more psychologically deeper than that (intentional or not) For one thing the figure is amorphous, in a sense of "it could be anyone" if your a tickler insert yourself here. Also, men are more fundamentally visually based sexually, so we (for the most part) want or need to see the victim as part of the fantasy, but I will say, as much as I honestly do LOVE Jeff, and TickleMaster's work, and even SOME fmconcepts (yes dispute popular belief there are some diamonds in the mountains of rough, just not as much constant quality as the others) it isn't my favorite part of the video to see Jeff there (no offense man) Not to hijack the thread for a different debate, but I feel the male ticklers in videos are 90 percent of the time better at the kind of tickling I like than female ticklers, but none the less, put simply, men don't always like looking at other men. Seeing the face of another guy can, not always, but it can lead to a sense of... wow... that guy is having a lot of fun. Especially because we all know our beloved tickle producers are having ALOT of fun (lucky so-and-sos), facial memories are intense, we see another face its another guy. It's easier from a psychological standpoint, to become the TIB... oh yes, I remember that time I wore a black ski-mask and had a variety of unbelievably beautiful women tied and at my mercy.. that was last Tuesday (le sigh) The Mystery hands does it well too... he keeps the male out of the picture, and we see a pair of hands... we have hands, we can relate to hands. Now before anyone jumps on me let me say, like I said, I like Jeff, Yaqi and T2D (two of my fav ticklers) I'm just giving not really psychoanalysis, but more like, film criticism. Nothing WRONG with seeing a guy, but since I would imagine the largest market for M/F videos, is straight men, its probably not a priority either. Finally, the mask, like in horror movies, allows for the creation of a mythic larger than life character. And since women are more verbal as a rule than visual, I would imagine the TIB has a good impact on them because he actually usually portrays in his videos most of the alpha male qualities from dominance, to "taking care" of his lee's even while he tortures them (one of the most important dominant quality sin my book as a BDSM guy.) It truly was an iconic creation in tickling media. Now TIB feel free to come in and say, I just didn't want people to know who I was, so I dug in my closet and grabbed stuff and kill all my well conceived analysis. I could do more, but after a few pages I have to ask you guys to give me a good grade and write me graduate and post graduate letters of recommendation 🙂
