And i know this is a stupid question. But i'm gonna ask it anyways. 😀

Do they use some sort of fake staged blood? or is it there actually real life human blood?

and if it is then wouldn't you think that they have to get tested monthy for Hiv and Aids? right?

Real, the ref has small razor blades he slips to them, and they make small cuts on themselves. Tonight Shawn Micheals went deeper than he intended I think, he was very bloody.

Yes, its real. Another trick they use to cause bleeding that is not excessive or of serious consequence to wrestlers is that they focus on particular places and create lesions on these spots where blood is more likely to flow easily from (the forehead, temple area), and they just keep lightly brusing up that area to keep it bleeding, ensuring constant blood-flow that isn't too detertrimental to the wrestler.

HBK's blood tonight was fake. It was obvious. Plus I doubt Angle would go into the crowd bumping into fans with all that blood on him.

Then sense it's real.

what about hiv and aids tests? don't all the wrestlers have to take thoses?

how could it be fake blood if he continued to bleed through the match? did he have a hidden, fake blood pump on him i must of missed, with a hidden pouch of blood somewhere also? im sure they are tested for aids or anything like that before they would expose any fan to blood. vince isnt stupid.

I would imagine they would have to get tested...

Awesome heartagram vampire!!

Dreamer Explains!

Real blood...I met Tommy Dreamer in a Tower Records not too far from where I live in Yonkers,NY and he had the cut scar on his forhead so I asked him about it and explained it. Like the gentleman said a few posts up they hide a blade in their wrist tape and cut themselves outside the ring. The blood is meant to mix with sweat and then it comes down pouring. Dreamer said before a match he also takes a bunch of aspirin to thin his blood thus making it pour out of the wound easier.

The blood and the head wound were both real. No assistance was necessary from any razor blades or fake blood. I'm not even sure they rubbed up the spot before the match, though he may have used asprin or another blood thinner. The shot he took would have opened him up either way. He hit the spot on the angle brace going between the back and seat of the chair when Edge slammed him the second time. That brace is a straight metal edge, unrounded and often a bit course. (I've set up plenty of chairs like that over the years to know that you keep your hands away from there.)

AFA the amount of blood...head wounds always bleed more than others because of the simple fact that the blood vessels are closer to the surface. The fact that Shawn kept getting hit was why it continued to bleed so long. You could watch and see it starting to clot up. Then, he'd get hit again and it would renew the flow. If I had to guess, I'd say he lost a good pint and a half of blood by the time the match was over...if not more.

As for the concern about HIV, etc. With the physicians and trainers that the WWE employs (even a plastic surgeon who travels with them to take care of wounds like this), I'm sure they must test on a regular basis. I would imagine it's part of a regular physical exam...and not just a yearly one like most folks get.

Vigilance about things like this has been much higher since the incident when Greg Luganis (SP?) cut his head open and bled freely into the pool during a dive at the Olympics back in '88. The fact that nobody knew until later that he was HIV positive put everyone on notice. Regular testing in most sports where the athletes tend to get banged up is pretty much a given these days. Many other sports have followed suit as well.

After saying all that, can I tell you that Shawn and others absolutely get tested? Nope. I can't. I think you'd have to be in the business to know for sure. But, I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't.

Thanks Krokus cool Devil Horns picture also (i'm thinking it means something! but i can't put my finger on it)

with that being said.

then why aren't there more Hardcore/Street fight matches in the wwe? is it because of the blood loss and razor blade issues? or is there just a lack of wanting to see matches like theses from the wwe fans!?

It's the schedule. You can't do that sort of thing week in and week out without someone getting seriously injured.

Besides, saving the hardcore matches for special occasions increases their impact. A few years ago, they were having hardcore matches (although not usually bloody ones) every week in an attempt to imitate ECW. It got dull and repetitive -- just a lot of hitting. A little of that stuff goes a long way.

Razor. On the replay it showed him falling out of the ring after the shot and he was not bleeding, didn't look anything close to a cut.
