Bob Welch R.I.P.

Bob Welch, former guitarist with Fleetwood Mac, was found dead of an apparent suicidal gunshot wound. He was 66 years old and not in good health.

He had two big solo hits in the late 70s, "Ebony Eyes" and "Sentimental Lady".

A great musician, R.I.P.

Thanks Drew. I can't find a live clip either. I got to see Bob live when his band Paris passed through Kansas City in the 70s. Great show.

There is a funny scene in the movie "Grown Ups" involving the song "Sentimental Lady".

"Sentimental Lady" (FM's version and his solo version) was a great song.

From Wikipedia: "Welch had had spinal surgery three months earlier and doctors had told him he would not get better, and he did not want her to have to care for an invalid." Now, having spinal disease is pretty heavy stuff. I know at least one person who's got it and it doesn't look like any damn fun. Still, I wish someone at the hospital, an organization of people with disabilities, or someone at the damn doctor's office had gotten to Mr. Welch and helped him deal with the implications of his condition before he decided to pick up that weapon.
