It is funny but it can spoil clothes it happened to me at a wedding and ruined a new suit.

In citys the smell can be bad and one way a office block stopped it was by using a silicone grease bead about 15mm dia where the birds perched and it stopped them they didn't like perching on the semi solid bead.
