Bondage safety- solution?

Wow I was thinking about this same thing recently.

If the bondage was tight, and people wouldn't question where the lee or ler was for a day or two the ler would definitely be screwed. The lee would probably be found within a 2 days soon enough that they wouldnt dehydrate, maybe...

But in that situation there isnt seem a whole lot of options...

I mean, shit can happen when you're alone in your home, too. You can knock yourself out or have a heart attack without anyone around. This scenario seems less likely, so I wouldn't worry about it 😎

Indeed, I can't think of a solution either. Even having a third party call to make sure things are all right wouldn't work very well; the 'ler could have the heart attack or stroke the minute after the call comes in.

That is one of King's books that should have been made into a movie but wasn't.

Oh sure, but I'm thinking more for the Lee's benefit. I mean, if my gf and I were to do this and I kick it from a heart attack... well, that's that for me. Regardless of whether she gets free or not, I'm prolly toast. But the truth is, it could be DAYS before someone thinks "I should forcefully enter his apartment to see if he is ok", and in that time she could be stuck there in a less than fortunate situation.

Shit and the worse part is depending on what the couple is doing, the 'lee could be gagged! I suppose something akin to the 'dead man's switch' or whatever that trains have. Maybe a computer program you can turn on that will e-mail a friend if it hasn't been turned off at a certain time?

Definitely a scary, even if unlikely scenario.

I'm not very knowledgeable about bondage or anything, but I imagine that you could get yourself out of just about anything if you have the opportunity to focus on it for a couple of hours.

You probably could, but I imagine after my dead ler laying next to the bed or on top of me for that time you could bring me to a mental hospital by the time I got out of the restraints. 🙂

Hmmm....I don't know, I think reading would be more interesting than watching in this case....a lot of the scary stuff just happens in her mind....it's good to describe, but not good to show. 🙂

Oh my gosh! I honestly had never thought about that, but since you have brought it up it has definitely come to the forefront of my mind. That would be HORRIBLE...the only possible way to make sure everyone would be safe in a situation like that would be to keep one limb free. In particular an arm. This way if something does happen to the ler, though pretty rare, but like you stated it COULD happen. At least the lee would have a chance to untie themselves. If not that then I guess not using any bondage at all would be the safest bet, but where's the fun in that? 🙂

Well yeah - it would still be horrible, but people are talking about the lee being stuck there for days and dehydrating and shit. I don't think it's quite that serious.

One of the things that always worried me when dealing with bondage between couples, particularly in tickling, was the idea of something happening to the ler. I mean, there's a snowball's chance in hell but it COULD happen, right? You have your lee all tied tightly, safewords abound and all that. Boom ler has a heart attack or stroke or what have you. Sooo... here's your lee, all tight up tied and can't do jack crap either to help the ler or themselves (for quite a while depending on the bondage used. >_> Possibly until someone realizes they've gone missing and saves em).

Do any other couples take this into consideration when doing bondage and if so, what methods do you use to protect the lee from this horrid possibility?

Wow! That really is a spooky thought. I must confess I never thought of that kind of scenario either-granted it is not likely to happen and far out there-very slim chance of actually happening but still-spooky big time. I guess it would make sense to have least one arm loose like you said if you were going to be restrained and if you were going to do bondage when incorporating being tickled. That is definitely going to be in the back of my mind now-I guess that is why it is important you let another person close to you -that you can trust-know where you are-so in case of this scenario the person will know where you are. I guess too before you start a tickling scenario agree upon mutual limits and safewords-just stop before it gets too intense or too physically strenous. I am not sure, this is sure a interesting thread post I must say-gives you something to think on.

Here is a partial solution that requires a third party who knows of your activities. The third party is waiting for a call by a specified time. The call says, "The lee is now out of bondage and our session is over."

There are two options if the call does not come.

If the third party lives close enough, he or she has been given his or her own key and will come over immediately and investigate.

If the third party is not close by, then he or she calls the appropriate local police to investigate immediately.

This requires that the ler and lee absolutely remember to make the call to say that all is well. The police will not be amused if called frivolously.

I have been thinking about this myself, along with Sir. One option we came up with was leaving the key in the lock to the wrist cuffs. Another was using a double-ended clip:

to hook the wrist cuffs together, thus only one wrist would actually be locked down.....I do not know how viable this would be, but you could 'practice' to see how well it works.
