Milwaukee is panicking. They let a huge lead in the Central slip away last year and have gagged away a sizeable lead in the wildcard race this year, playing very tight.
The Brewers have everything riding on winning now. They will lose Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia to free agency after this year and do not figure to contend next year. So they must figure these next twelve games are the most important they will play for a long time. If a change in manager is necessary to win right now, then I think it had to be done, given their situation.
