Well, I think it's really tough to compare quarterbacks from different eras. Jonny Unitas is sometimes considered the greatest of all time, but I never watched him play. Nor did I see Sammy Baugh or Otto Graham, amongst others. John Elway is the greatest I ever saw, but I'm a Bronco fan. That should indicate not only bias, but I watched him play a heck of a lot more than I did others. I'm not as impressed with Favre as I am with many others, although he had a lot less help at wide receiver than some. I would rate Fran Tarketon and Dan Marino above him. Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, and Dan Fouts we're surrounded by talent, so it's tough to compare them to Favre. Even today, it's tough to compare Manning and Brady, who both have many good years left ahead of them barring injury, to Favre. Staubach, Len Dawson, Kenny Stabler- who I don't think gets the respect he deserves, Warren Moon: there's too many great QBs to name. Favre's not in my top ten, but I can see other people putting him up there. Longevity-wise, he is an anomaly.
