Britain's Sun newspaper reports that Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline were recently flying from Los Angeles to New York when she "caused a real stink when smelly feet gassed a plane full of people."
The pop tart apparently removed her shoes in flight--the better to wiggle her tootsies--but in the process unleashed a pungent smell throughout the cabin. After several complaints from passengers, a very embarrassed flight attendant tapped Britney on the shoulder and gently asked her to put her shoes back on. What was Brit's reaction? One passenger dished to the Sun, "Britney went red, laughed, and said her shoes make her feet stink. Thankfully she put them on. There's no way we could have put up with that."
It's precisely because of weird tales like this, coupled with two marriages, a quickie divorce, and reports of binge drinking in posh places that Britney Spears is the year's most searched-for person on the Web, according to tallies from America Online. She received this honor for the second year in a row, beating out Paris Hilton and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, reports PEOPLE Daily. The most-searched news topic was the presidential election, topping even Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction
