I just watched Brock destroy Mir... Fedor is better then Mir and they sort of have similar styles, lots of savy and submission ability. This was my first MMA pay perview event , worth every penny!... Will also pay for Brock V. Fedor... any thoughts????

Brock was a real class act after that fight, wasn't he? I wonder if his wife let him "get on top of her" like he said he planned to do.

Hate Lesnar was hoping mir would tap him out again, and what a douchbag after the fight. He seems to think he is king of mma, really wish silva could gain the weight or lesnar lose it so the spider could put him in his place

Overall the heavyweight division is the weakest in the talent pool right now. When it first started their were no weight classes and someone like Gracie would have torn Lesnar apart

I'm so glad that Lesnar is kicking ass in MMA and pissing off so many people.

Why ? Because he was a WWE wrestler ?

Lesnar is actually unpopular because he shows poor sportmanship and he was privileged by the UFC matchmakers.

I have more respect for Bobby Lashley who goes step by step, gaining experience in smaller MMA organizations. He also more humble.

I'm loving it because there were a lot of smart-asses out there who talk all this shit about professional wrestlers competing in MMA. Brock is proving them wrong.

And I also love that he's not with the PC bullshit and he's being the bad guy. It's not as if Mir was such a class act prior to the fight.

I couldn't care less about UFC. I'm only interested in what Brock does. I wish Lashley the same success.

Actually, the fact that he usd to be a WWE performer is probably why the fans of the MMA hate him so much. If I was Dana I would tell him to keep going out there an pissing off as many of t he hard ass "purists" he can. I wouldn't have been to happy about the Coors/Budwiser remark, but angry fans will fill the seats to see him get bat just like some would to see him win. Ali knew this in boxing, and Lesnar/White could make alot of money off of this if Dana is willing to put his dumb "This ain't wrestling" mind set on the shelf and think about making money.

I'm going home, I'm going to have a coors because Budwiser isn't paying me, and I might even mount my wife.
-Brock Lesnar

Brock... if I was married to her I would do the same damn thing!

Strange. I remember an old interview where Lesnar criticized WWE, saying that the smartest guys in wrestling are the ones who leave that business.

Honestly, I don't care if MMA fighter comes from wrestling, K-1, boxing, judo or whatever.
It's a shame because Lesnar's antics overshadowed his performance.

In that case, explain why a former pro wrestler like Kazushi Sakuraba is now considered as a MMA legend.

I don't get what you are asking? My comment was that playing up an ass hole image will sell tickets because people will come to see Lesner hoping he will get his but kicked. Mohamed Ali learned that trick from Gorgeous George when he saw him on TV. The people hated George, but he put asses in the seats. I have no idea who Kazushi is, or why you brought him up.

:facepalm2:
You said Lesnar was hated by the MMA fans because he was in WWE. But Sakuraba is the living proof it's possible to have a pro wrestling background and to become a respected MMA fighter.

How many fans knew Sakuraba as a profession wrestler before he was in MMA. Lasnar was Mr. WWE for a short run, and only because he was asked to be released. McMahon had such faith in him as a drw he sighned him to a 10 year deal and even talked The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan into putting him over in matchs, hell John Cana named his move the FU during his fude with Brock because his move was called the F-5. Lesnars time in the WWE probably wasn't much more then a year (if even), but he was a head liner in the biggest company in North America, so he is remembered as that guy from the fake show.

Another thing, Dana white is an idiot for constantly feeling the need to trash Pro Wrestling. There are things about the indastry that I don't like, but it is anything but fake. Even with the fixed matchs and crazy promos gravity is still a constan in the univerce and it still hurts when you fall off a ladder. Not only that, but as Tickle_Fiend05 proves there is a cross over from WWE to the UFC so trashing wrestling isn't going to make those people feel very good about you, and it could possible end up hurting you buisness.

I agree the casual fans have few knowledge on Japanese MMA (just as casual wrestling fans have few knowledge on puroresu). But the purist fans know Sakuraba was a pro-wrestler.

About playing the "bad guy" in UFC, Lesnar just succeded Tito Ortiz in that role.

Loving or hating Lesnar just because he was in WWE, both bias are as ridiculous as each other to me.

Besides, big men are rarely the crowd's favourite. See Semmy Schilt in K-1 or Nicolay Valuev in boxing.

Personnally, I do respect Lesnar's skills and strengh. However, his "on-screen character" isn't my cup of tea.

This. Whether you love or hate Lesnar for whatever reason, he IS the UFC HW champion, and he earned it over Couture, Mir and Herring. How he chooses to act and what he chooses to say outside of a fight, really doesn't change that fact.

Look at BJ Penn. Outside the fight, he's arrogant and offensive to a lot of people. That doesn't change the fact that he's one of, if not the, best 155 fighter in the world.

When was the last time BJ Penn was able to back up his big yap? GSP kicked his ass in to next year didn't he? I don't claim to know much about MMA, but Penn has always looked out of shape, and if you are out of shape you can't be the best. Lesnar on the other hand can say whatever he wants about whomever he wants until somebody can prove him wrong in the cage.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go google pictures of Rena "Sable" Lesnar

Penn took a beating from GSP because he fought in the wrong weight class (170 lbs). Every MMA fans know Penn's best weight is at 155 lbs. I still think Kenny Florian could upset him though.
