Brutally Cold.. And.. Snow

The weather in NYC has been brutally cold this winter. The high today is , as I like to say "A balmy" 22 degrees.

After three slightly milder days, another spell of frigid weather is forecast to begin this Saturday, and last for almost a week.

In addition, while it is 5 days away, and we know things can change, a significant snowstorm is forecast for this Sunday.

Last time, forecasters "Hyped up" a 12 inch snow event, and we ended up getting only 3 to 4.

We will see what happens. The cold, however, seems to be firmly locked in

Yup, all I can say is my heat is running non stop and I'd very much like it if the White Walkers can go back behind the wall and taken their frozen hell with them!

Forecasters are saying 6 to 12 inches. It is still more than 3 days away, so we will see if it happens

The snowstorm hit.

This time , forecasters were correct, with 8 to 9 inches around NYC and a foot or more in the suburbs.

This was the worst snowstorm since Feb 2021

Brutally cold weather is expected to return to NYC this weekend after a brief warmup.

Lows between 5 and 10 degrees on Saturday and Sunday nights, with highs around or below 20 degrees during the days

Next week is supposed to gradually "Warm up" but "Precipitation " of both rain and snow or mixed is expected on and off throughout next week.

Weather is brutal this weekend.

Today will be the worst.

This morning's low was . 2 F and the high is expected to be, as someone I know likes to say a "Balmy" 17F

Tomorrow will be 30F for a high, and then it will finally begin to warm up to more seasonable levels in the mid to high 30s and low 40s

come to Minnesota the polar vortex that hit us last month was -20 F

just came across this thread. Now it’s may but as I reflect on this past winter, it was absolutely the heaviest we had here in NY in years. I can’t remember the last time I saw over a foot of snow and the temps were crazy frigid for a good amount of the season. In a way I feel like we were due for it because the winters over the past couple years were insanely warm….like in the 50s. That being said, I’m really ready for summer this year!
