I'm bored so i thought i would share a few useless facts with you all. A Goliath beetle weighs about the same as a hamster. Centipedes are carnivores, millipedes are vegetarians. Earthworms have 5 hearts. The houseflys tatse buds are in it's feet. The muscles that make up a dragonfly's wings make up 23% of it's body weight. Bees are born fully grown. Termites eat wood twice as fast when listening to heavy metal music. Water freezes before a cockroaches blood will. Pound for pound, spiders, flies, and grasshoppers all contain more protein then beef. The mayflys eggs take three years to hatch:life span about 6 hours. Houseflies prefer to breed in the middle of a room. Hey i told ya i was bored!!

Hey Bugman, maybe you're the man i need to clear some lingering doubts i have... The thing is, my mother brought home some silkworms on a box a month or so ago from her work, it seems that they have plenty of them there, and since the place she works in resembles a farm at first sight (it's a social care center), and since the kids enjoyed them so much, they decided to breed some there... Ok here's my question, after the first two weeks the silkworms (in their larva states) ate normally (wich was all the time! lol), and after weaving their cocoons and after they came out of them as silkmoths (I believe this is the right term...lol) they layed down their eggs also normally... Now my real question is, how long will it that for these eggs to hatch? It's been almost two weeks now, and i haven't even noticed a change in size yet... Thanks in advance! Thought i might try my luck with you since you were bored... :wavingguy

Hey Dario, from what i found out they should have hatched by now.You might give it another week or so.Also you can take a pin and open one of the eggs,if its fertile you will see a catipillar forming. Also if you do a google search on silk moths there are instructions on how to care for them.Hope this helps you.

If this is the choice, I fear I shall always be deprived where protein is concerned.
