I heard my alarm beeping from the other room, pulling me out of the most relaxed sleep I’d had in my life. As I came to my senses, I realized that Krista was laying close to me. I could have just laid there forever, but we had a plane to catch. My left arm was still draped over her waist, my hand had found its way a couple inches up the front of her shirt.
Moving my mouth to her ear, I said “Wake up angel, we have a flight to catch.” I could still smell her coconut shampoo, it was alluring. “Nnnnn...no five more minutes...” she protested sleepily. My rebuttal was a fluttering of fingertips on her tummy.
“NNNNNNN.....” she whined, followed by a sleepy giggle. “Nnnnnnoooo tickles... tigerrrrrrrr knock it offffff!” She threw her hips into me, in a bid to buck away from my tickling hand.
“Oof!” Was my response, which put and end to me tickling her awake. She roused herself from sleep after that.
“Oh sorry, are you okay?” She rolled over, facing me.
“Yeah, so I’m guessing your tummy shouldn’t be the first thing I tickle in the morning?” I laughed a little.
She thought for a second, then said “My feet or my sides would be better.” Then kissed me.
We could have kept that up all day, but we had a plane to catch. After a quick breakfast, we took a few minutes to get ourselves presentable enough for the trip. Guessing that the weather in LA would be warmer than here, we both elected for shorts and a T-shirt.
Bobby and Anne arrived soon after, and we were on our way. I still hadn’t broke the news to Krista about my fear of flying, and figured this wouldn’t be a good time. I’d just have to get over it.
Everything went smoothly at the airport, we got to the gate with a few minutes to spare. She must have noticed my apprehension, even though I did my best to play it cool. Wrapping her arms around my right arm, she looked up at me with those gorgeous blue eyes. “Hey tiger, everything okay?”
“Yeah, it’s cool, I’m cool...” was my panicky response. My inner Fonzie had been replaced with Ralph.
“Hey,” She said, moving into a hug. “it’s okay, you can tell me. Are you scared?”
“Didn’t want to you thinking I was...” she cut me off with her finger on my lip.
“Billy, I’m going to say this only once so listen. I love you, and I’m always going to love you. There’s nothing you can’t tell me okay?”
I put my head on her shoulder, and whispered, “I’m scared angel, I’ve been terrified of heights since I was little.”
“Shh... it’s okay tiger, I’m here. I’ll get you through this okay?”
What a woman. Our roles were reversed from last night, and now it was her saving me. We boarded, and I did my best to hold it together. But as the plane took off, my eyes were squeezed shut and I was gripping the seat so hard my knuckles were turning white.
Krista gently stroked my arm, and reassured me. As soon as we reached the apex and could move, I heard her seatbelt click. The next thing I knew, she was turned toward me, whispering in my ear.
“Hehehe hey... stop that... *giggle.*” She was making tickling sounds, low and softly so only I could hear.
I felt myself starting to relax a little, my eyes still closed, I could picture us here, the only people on the plane. Instead of seats, there was a big comfortable bed. She was dressed in tan hose, a fuzzy red sweater with short loose sleeves, and blue denim shorts, snug but comfortable. She’s laying on her tummy, and I’m gently tickling her soft nylon soles.
“Billy... *giggle* that really tickles... you’re going to get us thrown off the plane.” It was amazing how well she could laugh like that, her voice never rising above a gentle whisper in my ear.
I tilted my head slightly and whispered back. “It’s working... can you keep going?”
“Hahahaha hey... you know how ticklish my feet are... no faaaaaiiiirrrrr *giggle* “ That giggle was making my heart melt. How did she get to be so cute?
“You know you love it.” I whispered in response, feeling my hands unclench the seat.
“Only with you tiger, where next?”
“Up your legs.”
My fantasy continued, with her providing the sound, my imagination filled in the rest. I slid my fingertips up the back of her pantyhose covered legs as she began to kick her feet against the mattresses.
“Mmmm...” she purred in my ear, “feels so good when you tickle me.”
As my tension faded, I opened my eyes. She noticed, and planted a kiss on my cheek. “Hey,” she was still speaking softly, “feeling better tiger?”
“Thanks to you angel.” I said, kissing her back. “This flying stuff isn’t so bad after all. But I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“I thought that would make you feel better.” She entwined our arms together, and laid her head on my shoulder, in case I needed her.
As we arrived in LA, Krista helped me keep my head together and we landed smoothly. Her parents were there to pick us up. I could tell by the way she yelled “Mom! Daddy!” and ran up to them.
“This is my boyfriend, Billy.” She turned and introduced me as I walked up.
Her Dad, who introduced himself as Reed, greeted me with a firm handshake. He was a square jawed man with a graying short haircut and mustache. He reminded me of Sam Elliott.
“I’ve heard quite a bit about you young man, Krista told me that you saved her from three guys who were bothering her.”
I felt my teeth clench at that thought. Who knows what would have happened if she had been alone. I didn’t want to think about it, and hoped I’d never see Justin again. “Just doing my job sir,” I said modestly. “Besides, I had some backup.”
Her Mom, Linda, greeted my next, with a kiss on the cheek. I could see where Krista got her looks from, she was like a younger clone of her. I honestly had a brief thought this might be her older sister.
“Don’t be so modest, Krista has told us how good you’ve been to her. And as for the rescue, we’re in your debt.”
“Happy to do it, Krista is an amazing woman. I love her more than I can say.” At this, I saw Krista blush and hold her hand over her heart.
After the drive from the airport to their home we both found ourselves exhausted, this West Coast time was going to take some getting used to. Reed helped me bring our bags into the house, and Krista showed me the guest room which to my delight was next to hers at the end of a long hallway. I excused myself to take a nap and Krista joined me in our respective rooms.
The next thing I knew Krista was kneeling beside my bed, running her fingers through my hair. Waking me gently.
“Hey there, we didn’t get much of a chance to talk after landing.” She leaned in and kissed me, I kissed back and she spoke again. “Mom and Dad went to get dinner from Crossroads Kitchen, they’ll be gone for a while. How are you feeling?”
“Better with you here. Kris, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about being afraid of flying. I know it doesn’t bother you, but it bothers me.” I looked away, and sighed, feeling disgusted with myself.
“You’ve got nothing to be ashamed of, everybody is afraid of something. You got on the plane didn’t you?” I felt her hand on my shoulder, gently guiding me to turn back to her. I obliged and laid on my back, turning my head and looked into those stunning blue eyes.
“Yeah, I did.”
“Billy, real courage doesn’t mean you’re never afraid, it’s being afraid and facing it anyway. Now cheer up or I’ll have to do something drastic.” I saw a smile spread across her face, as she cocked her eyebrow.
“Like what?” I asked, with a smirk.
Without answering, she leapt to her feet, then pounced on me, she landed with her legs on either side of my hips, leaned in and planted a furious kiss on my lips. I put my hands on her back, and pulled her in closer. We began kissing passionately, she had one hand on my chest, and the other trailed down and started under my shirt.
My eyes shot open and to both our surprise, a laugh burst forth from my mouth.
She stopped and looked at me, her smile got even bigger. “Aww is somebody ticklish?”
“I honestly had no ideaaaaaaa hey hahahahaha Krisssss....” both of her hands we under the edge of my shirt, on my sides near my waist it tickled like crazy. This added a whole new level of discovery, and I loved it.
I decided two could play at this game, and gently grabbed her thighs, right above her knees. A burst of giggles shot out from those angelic lips.
“Aaaah! *giggle* Billleeeeee hehehehehe.”
She doubled her efforts and we found ourselves immersed in our first tickle fight. Too bad it had to end, she heard a car pull into the driveway.
Breathing heavily, she panted “I think... we’d... better stop tiger.”
“Pick this up again sometime?” I asked.
“You better believe it.”
I love this woman.
