I'm a laker fan, but it would be nice to see a competitive New York team. Major media market. An Amare Stodimire and Melo front court would be decent starting pieces to build a team around.

Thoughts?

Glad it's over.

I guess it's kind of sad that the West lost a marquee player. They also lost Chauncey Billups. I'm just glad this whole thing is over. ESPN started to get like E! the last few days. It's like what happened with the whole Brett Favre deal. Melo and Amar'e will be fun to see on the same court. It does give NY a little firepower going into the playoffs. I still don't think they can beat Boston, Miami, or Chicago.

Some critics say New York gave up too much in the trade. They definitely are gonna need more pieces to get out of the east, but they may have traded away many of their options.

I follow the Knicks, I don't think they gave away the house for this trade. That's why I doubt if Isiah had anything to do with it. The Nets also got Deron Williams today. Right now it's hard to say how these trades will pan out in the future, pending the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement next year.

Deron...

I think it's funny about Deron. He definitely did not want to go to the Nets. It's like the Jazz had enough of his complaining and just sent him somewhere.

Here's a breakdown of the trade, according to the Denver Post. I hope the Nicks don't eventually regret giving up those draft picks. Might be a Blake Griffin or Kevin Durant hiding in a future draft class....

Knicks receive:
Carmelo Anthony
Chauncey Billups
Shelden Williams
Anthony Carter
Renaldo Balkman

Nuggets receive:
Wilson Chandler
Raymond Felton
Danilo Gallinari
Timofey Mozgoz
New York's 2014 first-round pick
Golden State's 2012 second-round pick
Golden State's 2013 second-round pick
$3 million in cash

Come on Jaba...they are the Knicks not the Nicks.

You wouldn't want me to spell the Lakers the Akers, would you?

LOL!

You're right, ha ha! my bad......
The way my guys play sometimes, i've been tempted to call them "fakers"......:illogical

And while many disagree with me here, I still believe New York is where Lebron should have gone, and had a team built around him.

Bottomline, LeBron did NOT want to be a leader...he wanted to follow. He wanted ready made!
