i found these two different pages both saying that actual itching powder was used in the itching scene of carry on girls

Obviously, the props people must have used the real thing, because poor Barbara Windsor and I had to go to the nurse with a terrible rash. Who would have thought that they'd using real itching powder!

Trivia: Angela Grant was one of several girls to come out in a rash after being sprinkled with soil and itching powder in the beauty pageant finale.
