We have all watched certain programs and movies. We loved them up until a certain character or place or thing showed up. It ROYALLY scared the bejesus out of us. Looking back now, we get a kick out of it, but we wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole then.

Here are a few of mine:

Buck Rogers: I loved to watch this show except for an episode where there was this red eyed/skinned looking devil guy that could turn himself into a glowing red ball showed up. I remember Buck's main squeeze was stuck in a room with it. It just freaked me out.

The Dark Crystal: I loved that movie. I even loved the Garthim. But they creeped the living shit out of me. I kept thinking "man, I'd hate to be the gelflings right now."

Actually, I'd STILL be freaked out to see those thing bearing down on me today! Those poor land striders.😱

Ghostbusters: you know, I had no problem with the screaming librarian ghost at the begining, but something about Gozer's red eyes kept me awake at night for weeks.

Pet Semetary: Rachel's dying sister...'Nuff said.

That's all I can think about right now.

What are yours?😱😱😱

an old local philadelphia news promo back when i was a young boy. was the most freakiest thing to me then. even had some very odd nightmares as a result that i still remember to this day from it lol

the outer limits totally freaked me out...

- The skull-face that suddenly appears and disappears during that weird dream sequence in The Exorcist.

- An unkown werewolf in some dodgy old horror film. To this day my biggest fears are werewolves and dog-based monsters of any kind.

- The Soup Dragon from The Clangers.

- All of the gallery paintings shown during Count Duckula's opening sequence. Them, Igor and the voice-over man gave me nightmares.

- Him Upstairs from Trapdoor.

- Vincent Price's voice. It scared me so much that I couldn't listen to or watch the video for Thriller until I was about 13.

The original version of "The Fly" (1958) scared me so much that I couldn't sleep that night. But I was only 8 years old at the time.

Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin,1967.Didn't really bother me afterwards but while i was watching it i jumped out of my seat several times. The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock creeped me out the first time i saw it.

A number of Twlight Zone episodes.Implied danger almost always frightened me more then seeing it actually happen.I really can't think of a monster movie that scared me much.

There are two that come to mind. The first was a Walt Disney movie called Scarecrow staring Patrick McGee. Everytime I saw that mask I damn near cried. The second was from Rod Serling's Twilight Zone. The one with William Shatner as an airline passenger who sees a gremlin out of the window. This was scary stuff for a real young kid in the early sixties.

Man i loved that show.I was The Scarecrow for about three years running on Halloween. That was based on a real person by the way.

A TV show that used to come on Nickelodeon called "Are You Afraid of the Dark."

Unsolved Mysteries

The Undertaker's entrance in the WWF

there were very few things that scared me as a child.since my parent were separated i would spend the weekends w/my dad watching horror movies and action/kung-fu flicks

the only things that scared me from a horror movie was in one of the Creepshow movies.the short with the guy that keeps getting hit by the same woman, throughout he keeps saying "Thanks for the ride lady".

dunno why,but it freaked me out

and also for some reason Chatterer from Hellraiser scared me

As a kid - Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom - the part where the poor bastard gets his heart ripped off and then gets lowered into the lava pit.

More recently: Event Horizon - the visions of hell - the evil guy says: "Hell is just a word - the reality is much much worse!"

TA :cool2:

The things that scared me the most as a kid were the monsters on the Sci Fi Horror series, The Outer Limits. One episode was called The Zanti Misfits, in which these alien criminals were banished to earth. They were not humanoid but rather insectile. They were about 8 inches in length and looked sort of like ants with faces that had huge eyes. The sound they made was particularly disturbing.

Does anyone remember the cartoon "Underdog"? There was a big red giant, that would come on during the show. In some episodes he would be on twice, and in other episodes just once at the end of the show. The giant wore a big red suit, and was very mean looking, and used to scare the shit out of me.

My parents took me to a planetarium at some point, and the booming voice talked about how comets' tails were made of toxic gases, which would kill people if they crashed into the Earth. So I was really obsessed for a while with the fear that comets were going to crash into Earth and kill everyone.

And another: I kept my copy of "Fox in Socks" hidden under my mattress. The inside cover clearly stated, "This book is very DANGEROUS!" and I suppose I took things rather literally back then.😛

When you think of the show Little House On The Prairie , one of the last things that comes to mind is the word 'scary' ( unless you imagine a naked Mrs. Olsen doing jumping jacks *shudder* ). But , yes ... that show had an episode that absolutely creeped-me-the-fuck-out as a small child.

I can only remember seeing this episode once ... & it was SOOO long ago , that I can't really remember what it was about ... but in it , it had this murderer?/killer?/kidnapper? ( again , not sure exactly what he/she was ... can't really remember ) dressed in an all-black gown-type outfit w/a cowl & this really creepy-looking white mask that I think kinda resembled a harlequin , but w/a blank expression on it.

Man , that thing scared the crap outta me for some reason. I can remember this thing abducting someone ... & I can picture he/she covering it's victim's mouth w/it's hand & the camera just captures this disturbing image of the mask & I remember shivers going up & down my spine. Geez , I had to be real young when I saw this ( had to be anywhere between four through eight or nine ) ... & I've never seen that episode since.

Actually , now that I think about it , that story may have been a two-parter , as well.

Anyway , if anyone else knows of what episode I speak/ remembers it , I'd be interested in the title of the episode if ya got it. I might try to track it down ... view it again ... & 'face my fear' .......

... maybe.

I also remember seeing the original A Nightmare On Elm Street on HBO at a friend's house when I was in like 5th or 6th grade. That scared the bajeepers outta me , too. Watching it now , though ... that movie is so NOT scary it's downright laughable.

The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh!! oh man, good stuff. i loved that show when Disney aired it a few times when i was younger.

my parents used to tell me about how i would freak out and run out of the room when the French's mustard commercial with the talking sandwiches came on.

I caught Fire In The Sky on TV when I was around 8, and I remember watching the scene where the main character has his alien abduction flashback. It scared the hell out of me.

Scene in question:

I remember when I was younger I used to watch a lot of "true mystery" shows about ghosts and aliens and whatnot. In particular I saw several programs which were about alien abductions, including stories where people claimed to have been abducted from their beds in the middle of the night. I never really believed these stories, and have always been a skeptic when it comes to these things, but they almost invariably came with filmed reconstructions that showed aliens coming into people's bedrooms and then experimenting on them on a cold metal table while they lie there paralysed and in a state of complete terror.....These images scared the hell out of me and I wouldn't be able to get to sleep at nights for fear that this would happen to me. One night I woke up and actually thought there was an alien in my room, and I tried to scream out but nothing came.

Even now, I was unable to watch the link you provided...brings back too many bad memories.

my husband was terrified of the Wicked Witch of the West in the old movie "The Wizard of Oz" as a child..

i was scared of one scene in mr magoo's Christmas Carol...the scene where Marley looks directly at the camera as he is talking..i hid my eyes..

Yeah, now I remember! The characters name was Dr. Syn. And I remember the scene where he is riding ahead of the bad guys and dodging musket balls. I asked my dad how come they don't hit him and get that scary guy off the TV. My Dad's typical answer was that they were not Marines.

From the original TMNT movie:

"...now you face....The Shredder..." That dude was freaky compared to the 'toon. Although I couldn't help laughin at the jokes the turtles made about him. ("Who..or WHAT...is THAT?" "...I dunno..but I bet he never has to look for a can opener.." :blaugh: )

Jason David Frank as Tommy in "Evil Green Ranger" mode, especially in the second "Green with Evil" episode. near the end I was like "...Holy...he almost killed Jason!" and that evil laugh JDF did (and can STILL do) is creepy. Sends chills down your spine when you hear his "mwhahahaha!"

Those two creeped me out...but in a good way where i wanted to see MORE. lol

Mola Ram, the main villain from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. His presence scared the hell out of me as a kid.

A Boris Karloff movie from the early 1960's entitled "Black Sabbath" contained an episode that scared the hell out of me when I first saw it when I was 7 or 8 years of age.

A woman steals a ring from a corpse with serious consequences. The face of the corpse gave me nightmares. I found it on-line. The face is still a little disturbing to this day...

Who remembers that Disney movie called "Pete's Dragon?"

The Gogans scared me. I always found it frustrating that Pete had to befriend a lovable lug instead of twenty tons of raging, hellfire spewing lizard.

I wanted to see that Dragon kick some hillbilly shit, dammit!😡

As a kid, the Dark Shadows series had me scared to death, but I was riveted. It was like watching a car wreck, you knew something bad was coming but you were compelled to see it.

Anything with Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, or the guy who played in horror flicks that was "Kung fu's" real life father (his name completely escapes me right now)!

As a kid, I absolutely thought Mr Jing-a-ling was the creepiest character in human form. I flipped out during Christmastime when my mom took us to see him. I know......such a wimp!:yowzer::yowzer:
