chat room ?

Have a question about chat room, is there more than one? I see show users in all "rooms" & saw someone mention "main room"

There is one Chat Room program but it can be divided into many separate rooms within itself. I suppose an analogy would be like a corporate office. There is one big "room" divided into many cubicles or offices. The cubicles and offices are the many separate rooms you see when you log in while the "main room" is something like the place where the water cooler and coffee machines are, the place where everyone starts by default.
