It started today in Washington D.C. Did you know these trees are the descendants of trees given to us by the Mayor of Tokyo in 1912 as a sign of friendship and peace? Sad how that would change on December 7 1941, but they are beautiful trees.

Cherry Blossom Season was my favorite time of year in Japan--people often go on evening picnics to sit among the trees, have a light dinner and drink beer. Good memories 🙂
