Chicago won it, 4 games to 2 with a 4-3 win in OT.

Congrats Chi-Town!

Your Stanley Cup Champions.

Rob

Good to see another good young team take Lord Stanley's Cup.

Even better when they beat the hated Flyers.

Hopefully Burgh-Hawks next year!

Congrats Blackhaws, long-time coming and well deserved.

heard the game on the radio on WGN 720 while going to work last night. Announcers were going totally nuts. Winning Lord Stanley's Cup is one of great events in sports when each player carries the cup over his head while skating around and kissing it.

Congratulations to the Blackhawks. I dont follow hockey, but, I get all the Philadelphia stations, and was watching the 11pm news last night when the Blackhawks won. The news announcers and the fans looked stunned and dejected.

The Flyers had a good season, and there is always next year.

That was a Great Game! Hard to believe the PC idiots have not protested the Blackhawks logo as of yet.

As much as it kills me to say it, congratulations to the Blackhawks for winning the Stanley Cup. They were the better team, especially in Game 5 and most of Game 6. I would have loved to have seen a deciding Game 7 where the pressure would have really been on the Hawks at home.

Congratulations also to the Flyers for giving us Philly fans a great run and a wild ride this season. If you would have told me in April that the Flyers would be playing in the Stanley Cup Final, I would have asked you what you were smoking. They had to win a shootout, yes a SHOOTOUT, just to get in the playoffs in the last game of the regular season against the Rangers. When they were down 3 games to none against Boston, pretty much everyone, including yours truly, thought they were done. And then they were down 3 goals to none in the first period of game 7 against the Bruins and managed to pull that game out at as well. Just incredible drama provided by the Flyers in their playoff run.

I think both teams have a good chance of making it back to the Stanley Cup Final next year as well. The Blackhawks are loaded with young talent although I'm not convinced that Niemi is the long term answer at goalie. He looked a little shaky in quite a few of the games against the Flyers. The Flyers have quite a bit of young talent as well, but they also have to decide what they want to do in goal and hope that Pronger can play at a high level again next year. Pronger looked tired the last two games against the Hawks, but they never would have gotten as far as they did without Chris Pronger.

It was a fantastic Final :woot: Both teams played their hearts out and I loved all the goal scoring.

Way to go Hawks! :gbtoast:

Did you catch Jeremy Roenick crying like a baby after the game last night? Come on JR, suck it up. There's no crying in hockey. :bwahaha:

I dont really care about hocky, but anytime a crappy Philly team loses I am a very happy person.

At least Philadelphia and Chicago passionately support their hockey teams. Last night's Game 6 was the highest rated NHL game in 36 years. Oh yeah, that game 36 years ago also involved the Flyers....Game 6 of the Boston-Philadelphia series in 1974.

I guess the NHL doesn't need their biggest stars in the NHL Finals in order for people to watch. No Ovechkin? No Crosby? Who cares. People will still watch if the games involve two passionate sports towns and the action is intense.

YES FINALLY!!!!!!!! Wore my white blackhawk team jersey to work today doing construction under my safety vest, tried not to get it dirty, despite all the comments and insults MY TEAM FINALLY DID IT! Congrats the great city of Philly too, they should be proud and are a proud city!

I had a lot of fun watching this Stanley Cup, as both teams are not on my "faves" list...although I was pulling for Philly because of the underdog factor...and because they beat Montreal, who beat the Penguins, who I *do* like a lot.

This was a really good NHL playoffs altogether. A lot of great series' in this one. It's good to see the high ratings it got this year. Even though most of the games were on VS. They gotta really pick things up and realize hockey could be a big draw if they featured it regularly.

Anyway...it seems to me that Philly really lost focus on offense in the critical Game 6. A lot of half-ice shots on goal that had no chance...and very little of them setting up the puck in front of the net, a tactic they played brilliantly when they looked unstoppable.

Congrats to the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans! It's been a long time, and as a Vikings fan, I know how that goes. 😉

Now, all I can do is wait until next year and start getting behind the Devils, Sabres and Penguins again.

You root for three different hockey teams?? I could be wrong, but I think that's some sort of "sports violation", isn't it? 😉

How in the world can you root for both Joisey and Burgh??? :shock2:

Do you also root for the Redskins and Cowboys in the NFL??? 😀

I'm thrilled.

I'll root for the Philadelphia Flyers to win the cup...after all the Broad Street Bullies have DIED.

was a great playoff series from start to finish. congrats to the hawks!
