man over 3 1/2 hours of solid jam music. Two oldies but goodies and 2 of my all time favorites!

They came out together with Only the Beginning. Then EWF stayed on for 1 1/2 hours of pure magic. Nothing like the voice of Philip Bailey. Their horn section is the best along side Chicago. This band had the entire crowd on their feet dancing!

Then Chicago came out for their 1 1/2 of pure wonder, the only thing missing is the voice of Peter Cetera. They played as they always have jamming out on almost every song. I have seen Chicago several times in concert and they never disappoint!

Then they both came out together for an encore, you figure 1 or 2 songs...no they came out and played a 45 minute set with all the musicians! Imagine all the pure talent on that stage!

Excellent show if you ever get the chance to catch it. Worth every $$ we paid to see it and more!

Sounds way cool, JPie. I imagine there was a lot of brass going on at such a show, especially that last set! Brass in rock music is something of a lost art these days.

you know they don't make talent in todays groups like this!

the last time i saw chicago, i had just eaten pizza hut for the very first time.

after i while i just decided to spend the rest of the concert in the toilet.

What, No prerecorded tapes or synthonic drums? Well, hopefully there was some lip-syncing. Oh, how many back-up dancers did they have?

Nice to see there are still SOME bands that can play their music live, unlike most of the crap on the radio today.

Note from the pedants society...........

.....the use of the term "Brass" is a little miss leading. Both bands use a combination of brass instruments and REED instruments. Trombones and Trumpets are generally referred to as Brass Instruments and are distinct from Reed instruments in that the players lips are used to produce the sound direct in to the mouth piece where as a reed instrument uses either one or two reeds to produce the sound.

The correct generic term you should have used was "Horn Section".

Any questions?

I saw Chicago on their "Chicago VIII" tour, in the Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, August 1975. Back when Peter Cetera was young and blonde and Terry Kath, the poster boy of how not ALL American Males are responsible enough to own guns, was still quite alive. It was a wonderful show. I wouldn't mind going back in TTD's time machine to attend that very concert.

Digressing with Judy's permission (I think she'll understand, anyway), last night, the Miz and I went to a nice show. We saw the Mahoney Brothers, who starred in the original Broadway cast of 'Beatlemania' all those years ago, in a free concert. It was as good as I wanted it to be, as good as the "Faux-Beatles" as you're ever gonna get. If they ever come to your neck of the woods, catch them, it's good.

As well as it being an outstanding show, the thing that was way too cool was the mutual respect that the bands paid to each other during the show. Thew two groups really appeared to enjoy performing with one another and they looked like they REALLY wanted to be out on stage.

I will go as far to say that it was the best damn show I saw in my life (including Rush Moving picture tour in 1981)

Anyone who knows me will know that is a statement.

I was at that Rush show in '81 on the "Moving Pictures" tour, Giantfan. I didn't see you there.😉
