Had to post this, from one of the baseball groups I belong to.

Link should be..

www.blowoutcards.com

A Facebook friend who belongs to one of the baseball groups I belong to, posted the link to that story of a Chicago man, who
bet his entire $200,000 life savings on the World Series.

I can't post what people are saying about this guy, because it's against forum rules.

However, if people visit that link, the comments and opinions about him are crystal clear.

I sure hope he's arranged to keep anybody named Bartman a mile away from Wrigley for the duration. :ffuuuu:

I'm telling you, I feel so bad for Cubs fans this year. No matter how fuckin' good they are, the fact that Phish is playing two nights at Wrigley Field in June is gonna screw them over somehow. Someone's gonna slip on a hash oil slick and break their ankle and it's season over! Patchouli ghosts will surely be haunting the ballpark for years to come.

I'm so, so sorry...

At the time I posted this, I didnt know it was fake.

When I found out, I tried to delete the thread. but this forum doesnt allow to delete threads.. so in the middle of the night, I just left it alone, and figured whoever discussed it, would say whatever they did.

I know people betting somewhat-decent money on the Cubs and their postseason. It's a big fan base, and someone is bound to do something nuts between now and the fall, lol.

I'm a betting doofus- sometimes I lose say a hundred bucks- then curse myself for being an idiot!

But even I wouldn't be that reckless.

I know this story is fake- but gambling addiction is a horrible thing- espicially here, as you can bet online, it's all to easy to get sucked in..

I have been to Las Vegas three times in my life. It was in 1980, 1985, and 2002.
Each time I went to a sports book and bet on a single regular season Dodger game. Each time the Dodgers were favored and playing a home game. Each time they won. :bouncybou

Each bet was the amount required to win $100. I believe the amounts bet were $140, $160, and $130 respectively. In each case I ran to the craps table with my $100 in winnings. In two cases out of three, I lost the $100. In one happy case, I left the craps table with $588.

This is the level at which I am comfortable betting.

The thought of betting $200,000 is staggering. I can't imagine anybody doing that, unless they are a billionaire or have a serious gambling addiction.
