A 13-year-old girl from Angola was brutally abused after she was accused of making her siblings ill through witchcraft. Helena Kufumana was burned and choked by her family, then brutally beaten in front of a large crowd to "destroy her reputation." Kufumana was then forced to leave her family and threatened with death if she ever returned home. Unfortunately, this is very common among the people of Angola. Yuck

What exactly is wrong with any of this? I thought the United States was the most vile, brutal, evil country on Earth. I thought we were the world's bad guys, and every bad thing that ever happens, anywhere, is our fault. Since Angola isn't the US, this behavior must be perfectly alright. This just...is a different culture, as the liberals would say. And we should be tolerant of other's beliefs and cultures.

its just wrong and horrific to hear about something like this. Also, not everyone in the United States thinks violence and brutality is acceptable behavior. There are those who are against War, and look for equality among the people.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. It goes right up there with the stonings of women in Muslim countries, and countless other things. Not all places in the world have the US system of Justice, after all.

Keep in mind, things like this happened in many countries such as france, England, Canada, and yes, even the US. Fortionatly, our societies have managed to break the chains of Religious superstiotion, but it wasn't without it's fair bit of blood shed first, no? I certainly don't agree with it, but there is only so much we can do.
