I read this in the IMDB trivia section for the movie "Knight of Cups".
And that came after I saw him in the movie "The Big Short".
During filming, Christian Bale thought Teresa Palmer was a stripper. It was not until about a week after working with her, he suddenly saw a billboard with her face on it and realized that she is an actress.
Howard Stern used to send Stuttering John to big celebrity events as a reporter, and have ask celebs who they were...as if they were unknowns. And it always pissed off most of them.
There are so many overrated, passe A-list female celebs out there which make the underrated ones go unnoticed or unrecognized. And if the underrated ones ever become A-list, people wonder where they came from all of a sudden. Truth of the matter is, they were there all along--relegated to minor roles to keep the Jennifer Anistons, Sarah Jessica Parkers, and Reese Witherspoons commercially viable.
A good example of being unrecognized is right here, when beauty pageant contestants go without makeup.
And even with makeup, who would know they were winners in their respective states or countries unless they wore their tiaras and sashes?
