Classic 1930's: Variety Girl

Bless your generous heart! I've wanted to see that clip for years but it's not an easy movie to find. I only wish you'd given us a little more intro --- BUT I'M NOT COMPLAINING!!!
 
what is he using to tickle her feet? i can't make it out..and what movie is this from?

In the story, she's a struggling young actress who gets a part doing a voiceover for an animated film. The character on screen (a cat) is being tickled so a couple of production assistants tickle her for realism. If I remember, there's another scene where the cat is in a dungeon and the PA's put a trash can over her head. The gag is, she was just expecting to show up, act and sing. She didn't know they were going to be doing these other things to her, 'cause it's a rough life in showbiz.

I can't make out the object either, but the title (as indicated in the initial post, by the way 🙄 ) is "Variety Girl."
 
I could be mistaken but I believe the tickle implement is a feather of some kind.

Her name is Mary Hatcher (Any relation to Teri? )
It was made in 1947.
Also, just as a side note - the longer version of the scene just before the tickling part comes in.
There is a guy standing there watching this whole thing. His name is DeForest Kelley (Dr Leonard (Bones) McCoy from the original Star Trek)
 
i'm pretty sure that's a hairbrush.

sumone should make a longer clip of this that shows not just the tickling, but the context of what exactly's going on in the scene.
 
I've had this version a couple of years, it's got a little more context to it.

i only did it like 3 days with only 3 months worth...NOT 3 years worth of crap...i dont spend all my time on here..i got a life too.
