Anyone know whatever happened to Nick Lowe? 😕

XOXO

Hey, Steph! I may as well be the 'Grim Reaper Of Rock' because I always know who has died in the music world. Believe me, if Nick Lowe had passed away, I'd know it. Let's just hope he's still recording and living happily ever after.

By the way, I've always loved "Cruel To Be Kind"!

Cruel to be kind is one of my favourite songs! I always
want to sing it at Karoake.

By the way, Steph, not that we've met, but I heard
"Maybe she's just looking for, someone to dance with"
in some store two weeks ago, and thought of you
immediately 😉

Thanks Lee!
(We might as well have met, we have enough real-life friends in common!) :wavingguy 😀

Cruel to be Kind is actually a really good karaoke song. It doesn't exactly require a lot of vocal chops for those of us who don't wish to make complete asses of ourselves.

"Cruel to Be Kind" is a great Nick Lowe song......but has anyone ever heard "Switchboard Susan", "Crackin' Up", or "Lover's Jamboree"??

These are awesome!

Oh, me too! I still have the 45 downstairs on a shelf in the basement. I bought it at the old Two Guys department store on Route 9 in Manalapan when it came out in August of '79. The first time I ever heard it, I was (like a stupid teen) prying frozen burgers apart with a big knife in the Conestoga Wagon, directly across from the Great Arena at Six Flags Great Adventure. It came on the radio, and I'm listening, and it's like, oh, man, I like this! I asked someone there, "who the hell is this?" and he said, "Nick Lowe, used to be with Brinsley Schwartz," or whatever, and I said, "I gotta get this."

I wound up getting the 45 the next day, and later picked up a copy of the album "Labour of Love". Wore the damn things out. I now have a Nick Lowe compilation CD. Very diverse stuff, he did.

Friend of mine's a New Jersey radio personality...he says "Cruel To Be Kind" is his favorite song, ever.

Hee!

Yay gang!
I'm glad you liked my choice in tunes--I have one of the most interesting/weird musical tastes I know. It's hard to find someone who has CDs from both Barry Manilow AND Mikey Patton, and loves them both! :happyfloa

XOXO
