Yesterday, I went to see Adam Sandler's new movie, "Click". Without giving away any of the details, let me just say that I truly felt that this was his best movie. It may start as a typical Sandler flick, but it turns into anything but, in my opinion.
The movie combines human emotion, with the idea of what can happen if one is given too much power. I can say that I walked out of the theater throughly entertained, and pleasantly surprised. Kate Beckinsale gives a very fine performance as Adam's wife, and there is a nice supporting cast as well, including the "Fonz" from Happy Days, the talented Mr Henry Winkler.
For the forum members who have seen this movie, please post your thoughts here. I am very interested to hear your opinions . What is the consensus, is it typical Sandler, or, much more? I look forward to the feedback. Thanks.

I never used to like Adam Sandler until I saw "Big Daddy", which kinda hit home for me in some ways...except for having the child part (don't you dare!!).

"Click" was an interesting movie. Here we have a struggling hero, all bent out of shape due to the demands and stresses of life, i.e., work, kids, wife, etc., all the while trying to make partner at his architectural(sp?) firm.

Along comes Christopher Walken with a solution, or so it seems. A prototypical universal remote is given to him so that he may have control over his own life...but at a price.

The moral of the story is that the journey is the best part of life: the struggles, the ups and downs, the small joys and disappointments. How can you feel tremendous joy if you've never felt tremendous disappointment? (something I can easliy attest to...esp the latter)

Anyhoo, it turns out too late for him to go back, but he passes on his wisdom to his son b4 he dies (that family is most important), so I guess there is some sort of closure...but not much.

Anyhoo, I best be getting back to my usual duties, as I believe that I'm an Israeli soldier being held against his will. :blaugh:

Cheers. 🙂

P.M.S. Sandler, you ROCK!!! 😉

It seems hes starting to get away from the "special person" gimmeck he usally plays in his movies.

The strange part about all this, is that Sandler did an interview recently, where he said, and I quote:" I'm a moron".
Sandler has made a ton of dough portraying "morons". I will admit that while some of his earlier movies were a bit on the stupid side, in this latest one, he truly showed himself to have acting talent, and a human quality. I, for one, hope he does more projects like this, where he can show a strong sense of acting ability, instead of reverting back to his earlier, less entertaining projects.
He has several other movies in the works. Hopefully, they can be as good as Click.

I hope I get to see this movie before its on DVD! I haven't been to a movie in a long time! Mitchell, I take your view seriously and If you say this is worth seeing ill drag my BF by his leg to the movies and make him take me! :bunny:

Thanks, tulip, I'm glad that you place value in my view. If you do go see the movie, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let me know if you went, and if so, how you liked it.

Henry Winkler and Adam are good friends for many years now. 😛

I didn't like his early stuff (Billy Madison was too mean spirited) but Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy all had their charming moments and a little message w/meaning if you pay attention. I think he's one of those "genious in disguise" types: if you blink, you'll miss it. And, he and his 2 partners make use of the best 80s soundtracks I've ever heard. :happyfloa

XOXO

I haven't seen the movie, nor do I intend to. I haven't liked anything he's been in -- except for Happy Gilmore. That movie rocked....
