Happy Valentine's Day to all TMF members

My V Day was spent, at of all places, the GI Dr.

My last Colonoscopy was in 2020

Last August , while the Braves were playing the Mets, I had symptoms, and went to the GI Dr.

At that point, he said. "Mitch, no colonoscopy unless it continues, but if it happens one more time, you need a Colonoscopy"

I managed to not have any symptoms, until of all times, this week, the night before I was supposed to receive my blood test results from the Cardiologist.

So, I called the GI Dr, and he could not see me until today

Predictably, I need a Colonoscopy, at this point tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday, 2-24, because the Dr is booked up this week, and he only does them on certain days.

I know that everyone over 50 gets them every five years. The timing just irritated me a bit.

However, it could have been worse. My next Botox shot is on 3-17, and while the Dr offered to let me wait, taking that chance was not worth it, not only because the symptoms could get worse, but also because I need a week after the Botox shot for the pain to go away. Waiting another six weeks seems too risky, so I'm just going to get it over with.

I just have to calm down, and prepare.

Deep sigh! Sometimes health issues appear when one least expects them

I feel for you Mitch. I had to get two of them in the span of 6 weeks. The first one experienced complications as (and I did not know this until the doctors found out) part of my large intestine apparently loops and as such the GI couldn't get to the other side. The second one was successful thank god.

Sorry to hear that, Blaster. Glad that the 2nd one worked.

I think I'm more upset at the timing. Right now I'm inbetween a successful cholesterol test, and 5 weeks away from a Botox shot, which is never easy. The GI Dr offered me the choice to postpone this until after the Botox shot, but considering my symptoms that led to this, and the fact that I need 1 to 2 weeks for the shot pain to wear off, its best that I not wait. I believe that the Colonoscopy is a week from this Tuesday, but I will find out definitely in the next couple of days. Take care and thanks for the support

Why can't our bones, and organs just work like they used to. Nobody asks to get older like this.🤷
Hopefully things settle down soon.
Health has a way of getting chaotic sometimes.

Thanks for the support.

In 2020 when this happened the last time, I was not seeing a Cardiologist, and was not getting Botox shots every 12 weeks.

The Cardiologist was just a test, and turned out fine, and the Botox shot is not until St Patrick's Day, so maybe I'm honestly overreacting with over 2 weeks leeway between the Colonoscopy and the shot. Hopefully the Colonoscopy symptoms will not be as bad as last time, I will just get it over with, and dont have to think about it, or talk about it anymore
