Colorado Rockies Pitcher Jimenez No Hits Atlanta Braves

I'm embarrassed to say I was watching this game, but I turned it off, because the Braves were losing. Little did I know. I just came back online, and found out that Colorado Rockies right hander Ubaldo Jimenez threw a no hitter at my Atlanta Braves tonight. Jimenez's gem is the second no hitter thrown at Turner Field in the last six years, as the Braves were also victims of a perfect game by the Dbacks Randy Johnson, in 2004.

If anyone could post a link to the story about Jimenez's game, it would be appreciated.

I do want to say that I did watch Johnson's entire perfect game against the Braves in 2004. That was pretty amazing to watch.

Congratulations to Mr Jimenez. A no hitter is an amazing feat. A feat that many of the game's greatest pitchers, who are, and will be, in the Hall of Fame, have never experienced.

If a pitcher threw a CG or a CG SHO with only six baserunners allowed, would anybody call it 'not [as] impressive'?

A pitching gem is a pitching gem.

So yes six walks is high, but he also had 7 K's and the first no hitter of the year, a CG and a CG-SHO.

I'm not going to marginalize such a great performance.

While this was the first no-hitter ever thrown by a Rockies pitcher, it should be noted that then Dodger Hideo Nomo threw the first no-hitter against the Rockies back in 1996. And he did it in Coors Field, a hitters' paradise.

I have the baseball channel and they flashed his no-hitter in the 8th...I have the MLB package so I watched the rest of the game...He was throwing 97, 98 from start to finish!
