Commodore is back?

Well the Commodore never truly went away it was always in our hearts and in the hands of a devoted few more maniacal than Mac users. I should know, my uncle was one. He faithfully subscribed to The Compute, Run, Commodore World... and who could forget Loadstar!

I know that the original ownership went through the wringer over the years, so I am not sure who actually controls them now. But still this is either very awesome news or the greatest April Fools Joke ever conceived. I could do a little research here, but I do like surprises in life.

No idea... they claim that their product goes on sale June 1st. They aren't taking pre-orders. None of the claims they make on the hardware are out of the ordinary.

Oh, man. I'll just totter off on my walker, now. I honestly was expecting to hear something about these guys from the thread title:

Rick...you know we love you but dammit...STOP TRYING TO DRIVE US INSANE!

Seen this thing on Engadget... Technically it's just a PC-in-a-keyboard with the Commodore logo slapped on (as with many products lately... I've seen "Commodore" media player devices as well). But... a Commodore running Windows... that just isn't right...

If only they'd put an updated verion of GEOS on it.... 😉

Run FreeDOS. You can run GEOS or GEM on that.

Really...? I've been meaning to give FreeDOS a try for some time now. Heard about GEM, but I didn't know one could run GEOS (which was originally written for C64 hardware) on top of it. Coolest thing would be when there would be an initiative to develop a modern version of GEOS. Like the development of AmigaOS.
