the legendary (in his own mind only) hollywood brother was wondering what were some of the best concerts and musical acts the people on this grand forum have seen.

For the hollywood borther these are some of my favorite:

QUIET RIOT
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
CHEAP TRICK
ALICE COOPER
BON JOVI
SHERYL CROW
ROLLING SOTNES
AC/DC

these arei n no particluar order but these bands have blown the rock and roll tickle hell out of the hollywood brother when he was just expecting a regular show and got suprised when the rock show went way beyond his wildest expectations

I just saw Bon Jovi yesterday, as he performed for the John Kerry college tour...it was awesome!!!

Best concerts I've seen:

Barenaked Ladies (5 times!)
Beck
Lilith Fair
Dixie Chicks
Akrasia

I can't think right now...I'll add more later!!!

I've only ever been to two concerts.
First...Pink Floyd around 1994 or so (whenever they did the division bell tour). I think I was too young to really enjoy it properly. Also my father went with us which sucked.
ummm...
And when I was 15 the local oldies radio station hosted some sort of outdoor show which had Don McLean, Tiny Tim, and some encarnation of the Supremes. I actually enjoyed this a lot more than the first one.

But that does it for my experience of live music. Unless you count piano players in restaurants. 😛

wow..hehe i'll name the ones that i liked, most of the concerts i've been to, i've been literally dragged to.

Our Lady Peace
Tori Amos
Save Ferris
Jimmie's Chicken Shack (took a pic with the guitarist if anyone wants to see)
Tool
Incubus (ugh he took his shirt off! *drool*)
The Unseen
Tantric
Violent Femmes
The Casaulties

Probably my favorite show of all time was Third Eye Blind. While I'm not really a fan of the group (in fact, I went to see the opener, Vertical Horizon), these guys put on on hell of a live show.

Korn receives honorable mention. I was doing an internship at a radio station, and got to go for free. As far as listening to this groups music, I don't care for it except for one song, Got the Life, which is one of my all time favorite songs. Go figure. This wasn't so much the musical experience as it was the visual. Big production, special effects, and video screens make the Korn experience.

While not really a concert, I enjoyed STOMP. This ensemble creates powerful and rythmic music, without using a single instrument. Who would have thought that someone beating on junk would be so entertaining?

Finally, probably seven years ago, I went to a festival that our town throws every year. On one of the smaller stages, there was an a cappella group that did several numbers, mostly gospel and bluegrass. I can't remember the group's name, but I was really moved by the harmonies.

Holy crap! I've seen a ton and will see another ton in the years to come. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

Best concert, period: Faith No More
Most fun: Grand Buffet, Blood Hag (tie)
Most impressive: Sick Of It All
Most entertaining: GWAR (lots of things to look at)
Concert I got the crap kicked out of me the worst: Guttermouth
Loudest: Living Colour

Of course there are a bunch of others I dug a whole lot but these are the top of the heap.

I just saw The Distillers on Tuesday. Now that was frickin' great! Second best concert I've ever been to was Rise Against.
