Congrats to the guy who I adopted my screen name from. Deion "Primetime" Sanders was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame today. Along with other greats, Marshall Faulk, Richard Dent, Shannon Sharpe, Chris Hansburger, and Ed Sabol, Deion made his mark today.

Deion Sanders is without a doubt, the greatest cover defensive back OF ALL TIME. No one compares to him. Darelle Revis has "Revis Island", but Deion had a whole continent. He was also one of the most entertaining players of all time. But, his persona was just that. A persona. Deion Sanders was actually a really good human being. He wasn't like a lot of egotistical athletes you see today. "Primetime" was a character and not only talked the talk, but walked the walk.

Congratulations to all of the guys who were inducted today, but especially PRIMETIME!!!! I still say his best year was with San Francisco...Too bad he had to go to the evil Cowboys...

Enjoy these images of the greatest cover corner of all time....

Damn, did I pick the best sports screen name or what?

Ha ha ha..

Its a shame for you he considers himself a Cowboy first and foremost .

Deion was a feared kick who was hard to catch once he got going. However, this douche was a shitty tackler, and constantly changing teams like underwear. Two-dimensional at best.

He has nothing on Ronnie Lott, the greatest Defensive Back of all time. Won all of his rings with the 49ers, before playing with three other teams towards the end of his career.

The only reason why he has a gold HOF jacket is because of his marketability. That is it.

lol The 'evil' Cowboys. As a Cowboys fan I was thrilled when Jerry shelled out the big bucks for this guy. A phenomenal talent and yes the greatest cornerback in NFL history. No one else played in a World Series and Superbowl, and he excelled at both sports. Good for Deion, I'm happy for him and its well deserved. By the way, loved that he put the do rag on his bust at the end of his speech, that was priceless and true Primetime. Go #21 and go COWBOYS!

Actually, he is more of a Falcon than anything else... he "built" the Georgia Dome. But his greatest success was in San Fran. 1994 Defensive player of the year.....

Ronnie Lott is the greatest defensive back, no doubt. But Deion is the greatest COVER CORNER of all time. True, his "primetime" persona got him recognized, but NO ONE can ever deny his talent. When HOF receivers and quarterbacks say they he presented the greatest challenge, you can never deny his talent. His persona is not the reason he got the HOF. He got the HOF because he was the greatest cornerback of all time. PERIOD.

Hey smokinj, I hated when he went to the Cowboys. I am a 49ers fan, so you know we were bitter as hell. He looked good in a SF uniform.

Yeah, I was laughing when he put the do-rag on his HOF bust. Hilarious. I hope people saw his speech because he told everyone the "primetime" persona was just that. A persona! He did what he did for his mother to never have to work ever again....

Jamie Dukes on NFL Network said it best. He said the HOF should be on Mother's Day weekend because it seems all the inductees give a lot of thanks to their mothers.

Yeah I hear ya Prime, as a Cowboys fan the Niners were usually a worthy adversary and made for great football. Looking back, I can't believe how much talent those two teams alone put on the field every Sunday, multiple HOFers.

As for Neon Deion, he was a star no matter the uniform he wore. One of the things that make me in awe of him was his ability to bait QBs into thinking he was beat, then putting it into another gear to either get the pick or break up the pass. Unbelievable.

Very moving speech about his mother. I'm sure she must be very proud of her son, he didn't get into drugs or violence on the streets, he worked hard and had God given ability that was otherworldly and showed it on Sundays and 'primetime' Monday nights. That Giants/Cowboys game was spectacular, he owned the G men that night, I forget what year it was though. 1995? So what if he showboated a little(ok, alot lol) he could back it up. Nay sayers be damned!

Thanks for starting this thread, cause if you hadn't, I would have. With a decidedly different non 49ers feel. lol
