Clayton Kershaw has won his third Cy Young Award In Four Years.

Congratulations To Mr Kershaw. Quite an accomplishment. In Modern History, he now ranks with such greats as Hall of Famer Greg Maddux, who won four in a row from 1992-1995, and likely 2015 HOFer Randy Johnson.

Yes, congratulations to Clayton Kershaw. Now, in 2015, go for your first World Series ring. 😀

No brainer..obviously!! Congrats to Clayton!!!

Now if he can just shift some of his regular season brilliance, to the post season, that would be awesome!!!

Although, it would help, if the Dodgers could pick up a couple of good middle relievers..to cut down on his innings. Then I think he'd be less fatigued, going into the post season. Yes, his ERA was over 7, this past post season..but remember..it was only because of 2 bad "7th innings" (where the middle relief could have taken over)..that caused his ERA to balloon!!! Otherwise..he cruised in each start.

I know..I know..Bumgarner didn't need his relievers to help him. He was just in one of those "zones"..in the playoffs and World Series..where nobody was gonna "touch him", PERIOD!!! Just like Hershiser, in '88..made the "Mighty Mets" and the A's "Bash Brothers"..look more like the
'62 Mets!!!

Sorry to stray from the original topic..but I figured "someone" may come in and say it, anyway!!! LOL!!!

Indeed, somebody might. Here was my reaction to the NLDS against the Cardinals:

Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout,
But there is no joy for Dodger fans—mighty Kershaw was knocked out.

A friend of mine just posted on Facebook that Mr Kershaw has also won the NL MVP.

Congrats to him. Winning both the MVP and Cy Young in the same year. Quite a feat. (No pun intended)

Nice "play" on "Casey at the Bat", Mils!!!

This past post season had a bit of an effect on me, too!! As I stated in a previous post..it reminded me of '85..and Tom Niedenfuer's failure to hold leads against the Cards, also!!!

Oh well..on to next year!!! And again..congrats to 2014 N.L. CY Young and MVP..Clayton Kershaw!!!

Yes, he won the MVP as well. :bouncybou
That makes him the first NL pitcher to win the MVP since 1968 when Bob Gibson did it.
Both living Dodger retired pitchers who won the MVP award sent their personal congratulations to Kershaw. (They are Sandy Koufax, who won it in 1963, and Don Newcombe, who won it in 1956.)

Glad somebody recognized that I borrowed some lines from Thayer's famous poem. 😀

Kershaw is a beast and I'm glad my Braves aren't playing in the NL West any longer so they don't have to face him very often lol. Also, that was a very classy move by Mr. Koufax and Mr. Newcombe
