Recently, I've noticed a trend towards covering old sounds and rhythms in a modern way, here in Germany. Here's a nice sample of "Gekommen um zu bleiben" (Come to Stay) by the band "Wir sind Helden". I find the style extremely cool; what's your opinion on it?

Speaking of German records...they used to have this one from 1982 by a group called Trio, and all the guy sang was "da da da", it was in a Volkswagen TV ad. The song was so unbelievably silly that it was cute...

Oh, and who could forget Nena's '99 Luftballons?' I've actually heard them play the German version on the radio in recent years.

Not bad, by the way, Hal. Some of the sounds over here are totally putrid, so any new way of doing things is worth a try.
