Could Madonna be arrested?

Officials are threatening to arrest Madonna if she goes ahead with the show she has planned for this weekend..it involves the Crucifixion and other sacreligious things i heard...

Guess we'd have to know about what she'll be doing. I wouldn't think she'd be able to arrested for religious or anti-religious expression. Blasphemy, as far as I know, isn't a legal issue. On the other hand, I suppose they could use "inciting a riot" or something like that.

o brother..a lawyer among us...anyway...Madonna has balls..she could do it if anyone could..she would just keep going and going and going...

I suspect that Madonna is just praying to be arrested. If she is then I doubt very much that she'll spend more than an hour in jail, and I don't think she'll ever be convicted even in Germany. Germany has strict laws against attacks on religious beliefs, but they also have laws protecting artistic works. If Madonna can't afford lawyers who can swing that balance her way then I'll be very surprised.

On the other hand, an arrest would be outstanding free publicity. It would be worldwide news, and every performance thereafter would be "the act that was banned in Germany." Her attendance would go through the roof.

So I would expect Madonna to push her act to the edge and beyond, and dare the authorities to do something about it.

In Germany....

Munich, to be exact, back in the 1960s some rock group slaughtered a pig on stage and then had a preselected couple of fans climb up on stage and have intercourse with each other in the carcass.
The only charges brought involved attempting to distribute contaminated meat for human consumption (they tried to give the carcass to a free kitchen for the poor).
Madonna has a way to go to top that one.
