Couple of Questions about Fallout 4

Hi All! I have two FO4 questions.

First off, I downloaded the expansion yesterday, but my question is, How do I start on it? I thought I might get some type of radio single to get it started, but, so far nothing.

Two. I have a pretty nice settlement going, but only have nine people in it [8 follows, 1 settler] , How do I attract more settlers? I have a radio beacon, and enough food and water, and an extra bed.

The first settler came in one [in-game] night, but it's been a week [in-game time], and still holding at nine. Is there a trick to get more settlers that I'm missing?

I read somewhere that you have to be level 15 to start the new content apparently, are you high enough level? You want to listen to something called "caravan distress call"

and, Yeah, I am at level 28.

I read that in the guide. I think it said each settlement can hold 10 people, plus 1 for every point of charisma [in my case, 6-needed enough for Local Leader], so my settlement should be able to hold 16, but won't go higher than 9.

You have enough water/food/defense?If so, then I've got no other advice 🙂

I thought of a quick way to get settles [well, quicker].

I set up a, what I'm calling a half-way settlement. A second mini-settlement.

It has a keeper, person [follower-so as un-killable] that tends to the food and all, but every settler I get, I send to my main settlement.

I am up to 12 people [3 settlers] in my main settlement [trying to get my stores going-have 3 now, Armor, Weapons and clothes]

If anybody else is having trouble getting settlers to your settlement, I recommend doing this.

P.S. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the add-on.

I could never get it to work, right now, I'm trying to re-install it and hope it will work.

I would be glad to help [my settlements happiness is about high 70's or low 80's]

Could you give more details? maybe someone in your settlement has a quest or something for you.

I'm at level 93 and am only now just getting into settlement building. I've slapped together a few spots, but I really need to dedicate some real time to it, especially now with the new Wasteland Workshop DLC. Time to make wild animals fight in a cage, I guess!
