After going to 3 straight Finals, the Lakers got put out by the Dallas Mavericks of all people. Not San Antonio. Not Oklahoma City. Hell, not even the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, or Boston Celtics. On top of that, they got swept. Dallas outplayed, outhustled, and were more aggressive than the Lakers and earned this win.

I do not like the way Andrew Bynum or Lamar Odom ended their season. For all this physicality late, where the hell was it during the series?

After going through all their lazy play, the one thing that made it alright was the fact we were at parades in June. No parade this year. It finally caught up to them, which drove us Laker fans insane. I hoped the Lakers would lose this final game because I am fed up with the lack of intensity they need to play. If they had shown me some fire, some intensity, the same kind they had right after the all-star break, then I would know they would win the title this year. But nope. Same lazy play. Same bad defense. Dallas is knocking down threes by the boatload. The problem is, they are standing there WIDE FUCKING OPEN. This is not Dallas playing better than the Lakers, this is the Lakers playing shitty basketball. If the Mavs were hitting threes with people in their face, so be it.

Makes me wonder. There must be something more than just lazy play. I keep thinking about what Bynum said. "We have trust issues...". Made me think even more. Pau Gasol has not played no where near the level he can play the entire postseason. Is there something going on in his personal life/or amongst the team? This is not like the Lakers who survived and fought through playoff wars. They go out like this against a franchise who is more known for choking than anything else?

I have no idea how far the Mavs will go. I still like OKC to come out the West now, but they got their hands full with Memphis. All I know is, someone, ANYONE, but Miami win the title. Wait, let me take that back. Not Miami OR Boston. The sight of seeing the Celtics winning would drive me insane.

Where do the Lakers go from here? Who knows. The lockout (yea, it is coming....) may tear apart the NBA. Phil is gone. Kobe gets another year older. But the one thing I can always take solace in is that the Lakers will be back. We are the only franchise in NBA history that just keeps coming back. Boston had a huge gap when being relevant. The Lakers will be back. But this just fucking sucks right now.

Dude what the hell was up with your Lakers? Seriously? One bitch move after another, you're getting run off the floor that bad so you wanna layout and takeout other players?

Lost a ton of respect for the Lakers today.

Man, I don't even know what was up with those two. They both went out like bitches. No call for either foul. Lamar's was bad, but not as bad as Bynum's. Damn Bynum, you could have at least gone for the ball.

There was a lot of frustration. I remember right before Lamar's foul, JJ Barea and Lamar was woofing to each other. Lots of frustration on the part of the Lakers. Happens when you go out like bitches...

this has everything to do with the Mavs playing betterr basketball . The truth is year the Mavs are the better team plain & simple .

Magic said it best : this is an old slow un-athletic basketball team .Its time to blow the team up and rebuild .

Phil deserved better than to go out with a broom.

One would have thought the Lakers organization would have at least given him that much effort.

I'm not a Celtics fan, but on NBA.com there was a blurb about Boston. It said something like "Celtic Pride": By winning game 3 Boston proved that true champions do not just lay down."

Had to think that was a personal jab at the Lakers.

Jason Whitlock of Fox Sports wrote an article suggesting dramatic changes to the Lakers. Mr Whitlock mused that the Lakers should trade Kobe for Dwight Howard, and/or Chris Paul.

Another article I read said that there is belief that Phil Jackson's coaching career isn't "over", in spite of his age, and health. After all, this is a guy who "retired" twice, in 1998, and in 2004, only to spend one year away, and come back each time.

The article stated that Jackson might well take a year off, and do something like coach the Knicks, if Mike D Antoni is let go.. or.. that Jackson may even end up back with the Lakers.

I'm not saying their coaching job is vacant, because, after all,.. coach Larry Drew was just hired this year.. but.. whether the Hawks get past the Bulls.. or succumb, I think that while Atlanta isn't Chicago.. or New York.. or LA.. the Hawks are very much in the situation that the Bulls and Lakers were in when Jackson took them over. Teams that had been to the conference semis, and stalled. Granted... Joe Johnson and Josh Smith are not.. Shaq and Kobe.. or Michael and Scottie Pippen.. but.. I wonder if with the right touch.. in a lower profile city.. just maybe..

For a guy who has "retired" three times in twelve years, I really have to wonder if this is it for Jackson.. or if he's going to do what he did the two other times in the past.. take a year off.. rest.. and look for the right situation.

I'm pretty sure that the Lakers will trade the entire team before they trade Kobe. Even though he's getting old, he still can take over a game when he's at his best, and you can't say that about Howard. (You can say that about Chris Paul, at least based on this postseason, but even still...)

I think that the Lakers will call Orlando, and basically let them name their price on the roster. Gasol, Bynum, Odom, anyone is on the table.

Get a grip.

This is what happens when you think you can mail it in. They expected Dallas to just go ahead and fold, like they've done before. That exposes a lack of character. It's character that makes dynasties. The Flagrant Flakers are being laughed at. Well, they earned that.

Phil Jackson desevred to get a better sendoff then that garbage performance in Game 4.
