Dan Savage said something about origin of kink, and wondering your thoughts

I was listening to a podcast with Dan Savage and Dax Shepard, what I loved about what he said not making fun of anyone with any kink as long as it's consenting adults...because "sex is hilarious" Our creative mind allows us to become arroused by the most ridiculous things, and anyone that makes fun of someone else is because they are too ashamed of their own shit." Comforting to hear..

Anyway, he says a lot of times kinks come from what we most fear, for example, a lot of women will fantasize about being overpowered because in life, that is truly scary for them. Many gay men will be really turned on by big scary dudes, because again, they are a real threat. Does this feel true for anyone? Do you feel you're aroused by tickling because it was the one thing that was truly a threat for you when you were very young? I kind of identify with that. I remember being SO young and feeling the need to really protect my feet...

First of all, I love the savage lovecast! Was Dax on his podcast, or was dan on armchair expert?

Also, I agree. It’s often said that fetish and phobia is one in the same. I despised being tickled as a kid. I would scream and cry if anyone would even jokingly threat to tickle me. One day, my switch was flipped and it became a full blown fetish. While I am a switch, I’m mostly a lee, but it’s still a major love/hate relationship with being tickled.

I think a kink is something that your born with part of your makeup some people are passive some aggressive and everybody is different, these kinks can lay dormant or suddenly develop.

What happens to us in life shapes who we become i always hated being tickled as a child, but loved to see girls wriggle and squeal when tickled, i wouldn't say my kinks developed as a inbuilt fear or loathing of them, it was just there.

A girl found her way into the boys changing room at school and was watching us change through a grill in the wall and several boys started to chase and corner her with a view to stripping her or having a slap and tickle session till the master came in and read the riot act.

But i was gathering belts to bind her wrists hence the bondage kink appeared it was just there at that stage in my life.
As time went by i had girl friends but bondage never came up till a met a girl who was into tickling.

Off the top of my head I have no idea what the catalyst for me liking tickling. I was never ticklish, even as a kid but I had family members try it with me anyway. All that happened would be screaming in frustration of people holding me down and poking at me.

Honestly I don’t know why it turned into a thing for me. It’s more of a like than a fetish.

Without being too intimate, I can along perfectly well without tickling all.

The best explanation I can come up with is that it caters to my playful side.
