No. He's very much alive. Van Halen is releasing a new CD in the spring and he's back with 'em.

I mean, I'll admit I loved Van Hagar, but I think that right now during the time that Rock Strikes Back, we need a badass like Diamond Dave.

And his lyrics are better than

nope his ego killed him...he sucked on ice...any singer that decides to go solo for an album while still with a group is an ego creep...i do not like him...

he isn't a bad ass...bad asses don't advertise that they are bad asses...he was a sell out pure and simple...

I disagree. While there are certainly some singers that have an ego issue, not all singers in a group that do a solo album are necessarily ego creeps. I don't have any examples offhand but.. yeah.

ah well...i think he did have an ego problem and i was around in 1984 when Jump came out..i mean come on...he should have just stayed with the group.. but noooo he had to come out with that stupid solo album with i wish they all were california girls...he has no talent...and i know...i've been around since the beginning of Van Halen..the band was the talent in that group, until Sammy Hagar..then suddenly they finally have some lyrics and music worth listening to that makes sense for once...

Yeah, that's why I didn't actually say anything about him. xD My mom wasn't all that into Van Halen, so I never learned that much about them or David Lee Roth. I'm more of a Rolling Stones kind of girl. xD

took my mother to a Van Halen concert a few years back for her birthday, never saw her headbang before. a little scary. she's a huge fan
