ok im gonna start it off with the fact that im a huge patriots fan! and that people need to relax. this is pro football if you cant stop the team then too bad for you your gonna get beat by 60 points!!. also theres the issue that the patriots had there back up running backs in and were still gaining 10 yards a play GIVE ME A BREAK im sorry but i dont think the patriots should just start kneeling the ball down at half time im sorry. if there is a chance to run up the score and STATS then do it!!!

the object in any sport is to OUTSCORE your opponent and to PREVENT them from scoring on you and because the patriots have done that in every game this season then there is only one explanation. The Patriots are playing better "Defense & Offense" I agree with Calliman that people need to relax and watch history in the making :bowing:

Nobody of importance cares about it. Teams/coaches haven't complained about this, as they shouldn't. Just another media thing to talk about when they get bored.

Could Belichick show more class than he does by kicking the occasional FG or punting when up by 5 scores? Absolutely. Does he have to? Absolutely not. People can choose to not care for him based on his decision in those scenarios, but as long as players and coaches aren't complaining about it, there's no legitimate issue.

The minute players and coaches DO complain about it, that's when they need to man up and earn their $$$ and stop them.

again its not about class if bill was classless he would barley shake the coaches hand and the players would start fights and play dirty but that doesnt happen..if bill decides to score 283388183989038 points then thats awesome as long as his team wins and the other loses im sorry but beating a team by 1 or by 5 million is the same

the main issue here that you are overlooking is that there is a unwritten ''rule'' within the coaching community about not trying to ''show up'' the other team.

One of the classiest coaches in the NFL is Joe Gibbs( AND i AM AHUGE COWBOY FAN). Gibbs avoided him at the end of the game; that speaks volumes !!!!

but come on i really dont think the patriots are trying to "showup" their opponents its just if they can score there gonna score unless they are stopped i really dont think the pats are laughing saying'look at those guys"just if moss is open in the endzone 6 times a game im gonna throw it there six times a game

Are you serious? Remember when Mangini beat him last year and he wouldn't shake his hand? Remember the piss poor sportsmanship he showed Peyton when he didn't even look him in the eye after the Colts beat them in the AFC title game? Remember when he pouted on National TV when Solomon Wilcots tried to interview him afterwards, asking him strictly about the game and Bill gave him 2 word pouting answers? The guy doesn't show class in losing.

Now when he got his 2nd shot at Mangini last year and the Pats won, Bill gladly shook his hand. Funny how that works.

I'm not saying he should be put in jail for it, but to deny that the lack of class exists is a bit silly.

In fact...here's something humorous.

Google the term 'NFL coach lack of class' and check out who's name comes up multiple times.

thats just peoples opinion when there team sucks and one teams keeps winning all the time. its the same thing with the yankees. people get mad that the patriots are sooo damn good that they gotta bring up stupid little things to cause problems hey if i was bill i wouldnt shake anybodys hand because ever since we started getting good for the past 6 years people start making stuff up and trying to down them but the patriots arnt going away for a very long time!!!!!!!!!!!

You're missing the point.

Up there you said "If Bill was classless, he'd barely shake the opponents hands"...and that's the exact example I provided of something he didn't do when he was pouting in defeat. Now you're going back and defending him for not doing something you just claimed that he always did.

Nobody made up the fact that he didn't shake Mangini's hand, or dissed a reporter and Manning because of his pouting, or shoved a photographer on the field, or that he videotaped the Jets sidelines. They all happened.

The Pats are still a talented team, but just accept that Bill is less than the example of class in the NFL.

Personally, I'll take Tony Dungy any day. I enjoy hearing a coach's insight on his team. Bill doesn't really offer much in that department, because he's too busy being high and mighty above the press.

Different strokes for different folks.

also by not kicking field goals on 4th down they are giving the opponent the opportunity to stop them from putting points on the board, rather than taking the automatic 3. not their fault defenses can't stop them. also i think bellichek wants to make sure his team is playing a full 60 minutes regardless of the score, so that when a tough game comes (i.e. colts) and a full 60 minutes is needed, the team is ready for it.

ok fine bill may be alittle cranky and not that social but i dunno!!(dont think you won pagoda😀) this is supposed to be about them running up the score and if people think thats fine or not

See my complaint about the Patriots as an organization (and I rooted for them before the media proclaimed them the NEW America's team) was that the media kept up the whole "classy organization" thing. And yet I saw Brady yelling at refs, berating linemen, defenders dancing and celebrating, a coach who simply is too anti-social to answer press conference questions, etc, etc.

They did the same thing every other team did on the field and off it and yet they were celebrated as this super classy team with the good looking young QB and the genius head coach.

Brady is a good QB, but it was schemes and coaching that got them to the first two Super Bowls...now it is simply having the best receiver out there who is making Brady look great. (Check out how many times he has thrown into multiple coverages and Moss has saved his hind end.)

Are they running up the score? Probably. It doesn't bother me because it is up to the other team to stop them. Could they show some class and stop throwing from the shotgun formation when they are up by 6 or seven touchdowns? Yes, they could. They don't have to...there is no rules against it...but wouldn't it be nice to see the Patriots smiling on the sideline and enjoying their win instead of looking like someone peed in their Wheaties?

THAT is what is ticking off so many fans. The attitude that somehow the Pats are not getting any respect. After six years of having their butts kissed by every media outlet! LOL! As soon as they do something illegal ("spygate") all of sudden the whole world hates the Pats and never liked them! Gotta give Coach B credit for using that as motivation. Of course lets not forget the HGH also. And of course Brady and Belicheck's private affairs.

See, they give us reason to doubt the altruism and then act surprised. That is my humble opinion on the matter.

If they go undefeated and win it all good for them...but I won't like them anymore then I do now and I don't think they care about that at all and they don't have to. So maybe they should be quiet (as should their fans) about no one liking them. I mean, why do you care? Your team is winning and destroying all the records in the process. Enjoy the ride.

For the people who are ok with them running up the score

Dont be pissed off or complain when someone dropkicks brady in the knee as a late hit or some other stud is out for the season because bellichek is trying to show people up/ The main point in not running the score up is why have your players in meaningless plays

Their being paid to play football. not to have the first string taken out at halftime. if the rest of the shit teams cant stop them, then screw em! and if they want to be a bunch of sore losing jack asses and cheap shot Brady, then their the real assholes.

I'm sorry but I just don't agree with you on this point. It's an unwritten rule in sports period that you don't just humiliate the other team. When they're sufficiently beaten give them a little dignity. I learned this when my DAUGHTER was in high school; give the opponent something to hang their hat on when you know you have them beaten!

I'm not saying I hate the Patriots because I don't-they are the best team in the NFL right now. I can remember the years when I used to root for them because they were just a sorry-a** team in the league.

I wish Modell would've given Belechick room to grow and it would be the Browns instead of the Patriots with Super Bowl rings! But it's beyond counterproductive to just humiliate the opponent long after you've sufficiently beaten them, IMO. It just makes you look arrogant and little more than a schoolyard bully to me.

Well this is what happens when everyone thinksthey only won because of the cheating. the Pats are making it clear that it wasnt the case. i hope he runs the score up to 100 against the jets and mangini.

What they're doing is making folks ask just how long they've been doing the cheating! It's easy to run high scores on teams when you know their playbook.

If you're a Pats fan, then continue to follow them. But it's funny, the last couple of years, they've been sagging. Now they're running through teams (that is shortly after they were busted for cheating). Their credibility has been tarnished no matter how high the scores go. They'll never be able to completely wipe that fact from the people's minds no matter how blindly you and others choose to follow them. IMO, something smells a little rotten in Denmark!!!

How do you explain the beatings that they are giving to the rest of the league this year without cheating?

Maniac, that's the point!!!

They can't realistically explain the "beatings" any other way than cheating in advance. They have been busted for cheating and were dealt with by the NFL. This isn't something imaginarily cooked up; they were caught, plain and simple. It is diffucult to believe that they didn't use the info they already obtained to get the advantage they seem to have in the league. You can't deny that no matter what. Then again, maybe you can; I don't know.

If you're gonna play pro football you have to play for 60 minutes. If the Patriots mailed it in during the 4th quarter of the games previous to the Colts game, they would have lost that one because they wouldn't have been prepared to play hard at the end of the game when they really needed it. Opposing teams should (and I'm sure do) take it as a challenge and pick it up a notch if the Pats go for it on 4th and 3 with a 35 point lead.

Sorry, nice try. teams are constantly changing their signals and plays, especially if they knew there was cheating going on. just accept the fact that all these wins this year are with pure talent.

By the same token, if the Patriots aren't following the written rules about cheating ( last I knew no cheating was a written rule ) then what in the world would make you think that they would follow any UN-written rules???

Cmon maniac; you know better than that! They were caught red-handed, with hands in the cookie jar, and every situation someone can be caught/busted in!! You don't want to deal with that, that's okay! It sitll doesn't take away from the fact that if they were so friggin' great, they wouldn't have had to do it/cheat in the first place right????

Now chew on that for a bit and give me a justifiable answer. I don't know you personally, but I bet you can find justification in an un-justifiable situation.
